I don't know whether or not this will further alienate him from some hard-core conservatives, but it is the right thing to do. Hagee is another one of those very divisive figures...good speaker but hate-filled.
May 22, 200818 yr Hagee is the guy that said, Hurricane Katrina was God's judgment against New Orleans, correct?
May 22, 200818 yr Hagee is the guy that said, Hurricane Katrina was God's judgment against New Orleans correct? I think so. Rod Parsley is another very charismatic orator, but very angry and hate-filled.
May 22, 200818 yr Author Hagee is the guy that said, Hurricane Katrina was God's judgment against New Orleans correct? :thumb:
May 22, 200818 yr Author I've found the sermon on youtube but for some reason I can't copy and past it.
May 22, 200818 yr Good job McCain... took guts to do this, and it was the right thing to do.... :thumb:
May 22, 200818 yr What took so long for him to move away from this guy? It's all about politics and only after the rest of the world got upset did McCain finally do something to say "get lost." Please note the sarcasm and humor (dark humor though it may be) with the above statements. :thumb:
May 23, 200818 yr While I applaud McCain for not agreeing with Hagee's statements, as a sidebar, have we actually reached the point in this country where we have to make a press conference to reject someone whom is objectionable every time there is a public display of support? Are we that thin-skinned? Hey, lets take it further, McCain should say if Hagee votes for him he will not count his vote, too. To be consistent, I did not participate in the Rev. Wright threads, either. Obama listened to the man for 20 years, and that in and of itself should say what it needs to say to voters, but I don't think he had to hold a press conference to say he rejected his support.

Unfortunately, yes.

No offense Hearsay... but people continue to associate Obama with Wright even after he denounced Wright, had he not denounced him it would be far worse. I wish it were the case that this wouldnt have to be publicized, but witrh the mdeia so focused on spinning everything towards the nagtive, you almost have to make a pubic statement to have any seperation, and even then it still doesn't give an absolute seperation.
