BF, I've never heard more name calling than from the pro-warming side. You accuse those that slam Gore as not having a real argument. I have tons of articles, videos and other resources to refute your claim. Anytime, anywhere, just let me know. :thumb:

I've only called Gore a money-grabbing fraud and loony, and deservedly so.

I haven't heard any name-calling from the global warming side. It only seems to be coming from the other side.

I have a few questions that someone many be able to answer:

1. How old is the earth?

2. How long has man been on this earth?

3. These organizations claiming the Theory of Global Warming to be a law, what do they have to gain?

4. How much will this all cost me?

I will give you a scientific answer for questions 1 and 2. Questions 3, I am still debating in my mind and I haven't considered question 4.

Here is an Earth timeline analogy. The Earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago. That is really too much time to fathom, so let's say, for comparision's sake that the Earth were only 46 years old. Here is what scientific evidence shows has happened in those "46" years.

Warning: this is an analogy, not the actual timeline I am suggesting!

We have no record of the first 10 years at all - Earth was too violent of a place at that time, molten surface, cosmic bombardment.

"Life" originated in marine environments 35 years ago.

Life has only fluorished in the last six years.

Life on land only came about 4 years ago.

Plants and animals began to fluorish 2 years ago.

Dinosaurs reached their peak 1 year ago, only to die 4 months later.

Humanlike beings only became predominate last week.

The last ice age was only a few days ago.

Homosapiens have only been around for four hours.

Agriculture was "invented" within the last hour.

The Renaissance and modern science only came about three minutes ago.

Astronomy Today (Chaisson-McMillian, 2002)

This analogy gives a better understanding of the events then just saying something occurred so many millions or billions of years ago.

I know, too, that this might go better in the "evolution" thread, but I think it has merit in this forum, too.
