If two folk of the same sex want to love one another, my inner being tells me not to be outraged at them for it.

 

If two people feel that they can best achieve happiness by no longer being together, my inner being tells me that I am not to be outraged by that. In fact, anytime I feel any kind of negative emotion such as anger or outrage, I know that my thoughts are not focused correctly and my energies are out of alignment with those of my my inner self and the Universe.

I think he is touching upon Stoicism. They believed that nature has a divine order (logos) and that, by living in reason and virtue, we should live in harmony with it. When we are not living in harmony with the divine order of the universe, is when we experience suffering.

Why should it? Can you tell me without scripture? Remember that scripture may not be Truth for some people.

Homosexuality has been around for many many years both with humans and in animals. I'm not saying I agree with the ways of a homosexual person, but I can not deny them their right to do what they want to do. This is supposed to be a progressive country with freedoms to do and believe what you want, within reason of course. Who am I to tell someone what they can or can not do? How can I tell a person that they're not allowed to love someone because I don't believe in it? How can I say that they should not be married based on what I believe? It's their life, their choices to make, not mine, regardless of whether I believe in what they are doing or not.

The scriptures you point to are for "believers and followers" (i.e. disciples), they are not applicable to the non-believer because the presupposition to "denying ourselves, picking up a cross and following Jesus" is to be a confessing Christian (i.e. follower)
