I coached some of the kids from Cloverfork in 5th & 6th grade football. We played for the championship that year. They are Juniors now as is my Dragon son. Those boys are TOUGH and will be an asset. Most of them, linemen.

It takes like 2 minutes to blow up! A tad longer to get down (I was told). Comes with a big blower that runs off of "juice".

 

So what I guess I am saying is, if we had a generator and a couple of motivated gentlemen.....this thing could go to away games!!!!

48- 7th and 8th graders signed up!! 39 came out today!

 

32 5th and 6th graders signed up!!

 

Now listen to me, I am definately biased when I say this but...........wow. They are gonna be tough. :ylsuper:

 

Alot of talented young boys out there. A really athletic group to say the least. :thumb: I gotta feeling that things are gonna be fun again this year. I could barely get mine to go to sleep last night because they were so excited and the phone has rung off the hook from their buddies being excited.

The middle school Skins had around 20 to sign up today. But, from what I understand there were several that were gone to camp and on vacation. They should have around 30, which is about 8-10 more than they had last year. So looking just at New Harlan's 48 and Cumberland's 30 and ever how many that Evarts had...the numbers will stay about the same for the future and that is a really good thing.

Cumberland and Evarts will probably still struggle against New Harlan. They have a really good program and are committed to making those kids better AND the kids are committed to being better. Cumberland should be improved over last year. They have some good athletes...just not enough of them...lol

 

There is an excitement in this county that I haven't seen in a long time. The kids are what this is all about. They are excited and that carries over to us sports nuts.

 

I remember being really excited when I went to watch the High School Redskins back in the early 80's. Cumberland was playing Beechwood at Cumberland and I had a 104 degree fever and I just about had mom talked in to letting me go and watch it. Cumberland won 7-0 on a Bobby McIlquham touchdown. The excitement I had for that time is coming back and I can't wait.

I think Coach Larkey will have a good talent pool to choose from in the future. I think the boys that stick it out during the July heat must really love this game. I think the coaches that stick it out during the July heat must really really love the game and the kids.:thumb:

I heard 3-2 with a loss to KC on the last play of the scrimmage.

 

The Powell game should be in Stanton. It was at Cawood last year.
