Bellevue Regional contender in "2008"

Featured Replies

NCC is not weak and Highlands is tough when Towles is pitching. Bellevue is playing good baseball and beating the teams they should. They only lost to Dixie by 1 and beat a good WV team twice pretty handedly. I give you the Ludlow loss was an aberration but they are gaining confidence and young.

I wouldnt put them up there with the Beechies, CovCaths, etc....but if they get to the Regional tournament, they could knock off a team or two.

NCC looks to be a little inconsistent this year. I agree Highlands is tough as usual. I wouldn't put much stock in the whole "only lost by one run to Dixie" argument as Dixie has been inconsistent as well. Don't know tnough about WV's opponents to determine their strength.

Bellevue is indeed having a nice season, but in order for them to compete at the regional level they simply are going to have to play a tougher schedule to get them "battle ready" for the big boys. Games against Villa, Silver Grove, Deming, Williamstown, Heritage, Bracken Cty., etc.. won't help prepare them for post-season play.

This week will tell the story with the likes of NCC, Beechwood, Scott, Cov Cath, and Walton Verona. Tough schedule by anybody's measuring stick.

Agree. :thumb: And they will find out very clearly the depth of their pitching staff.

Bellevue's having a very good year as D-III is concerned but I think they have a .001% chance of winning the 9th Region.

I guess they have to start some where. A .001% is more than we would have given them in the last couple of years. I think their schedule is where it needed to be for them to gain confidence and start to build a program. Good luck to the Tigers. Keep fighting the fight.:ylsuper::ylsuper:

The Tigers didn't look to good today playing an NCC team on Sr day with several starters not playing for NCC so the Sr's could have their day. Bellevue, while impressive has a year or so to go.

If not for one error the game still going. Maybe didn't look great but didn't look bad either. Such is the game of baseball.:irked:

Who remembers Ludlow beating CovCath in the District a few years ago? Always expect the unexpected in baseball. As Coach Sanders often says, "let a lesser team stay with you and they will find a way to beat you."

Hey happy, Since then the Sanders Sluggers team, have beat'en #1 Ranked Cov Cath (also ranked 11th in the state), And they had Beechwood beat and lost 7-6. Watchout, for the Cinderella team of the 9th Region!!

It's great to get excited about your team, and they look like a decent ball club, but you have to keep things in perspective. While getting everyone's attention by beating Cov Cath they also got smoked last week by a so-called underachieving Ryle team and lost to Silver Grove.

They do not have enough pitching to get past the CovCath, Beechwood, or Ryle.

If im not mistaking Bellevue beat Cov Cath in the Coach Conner Classic this past weekend 9-8.

I do not consider them a serious contender in '08. They have a weak schedule and only have good wins against Highlands and Cov Cath. Other then those two wins, they pretty much have lost to all other decent NKY opponents.

It wouldn't be impossible for them to be overlooked and make a run in the tourney, but again I do not consider them a serious contender.

However with this being said, I am glad to see Coach Sanders making such big improvements. He is slowly but surely building a program, and it wouldn't be hard to see them as a serious contender in a few years. Good Luck to them the rest of the season!

But if not mistaken Cov Cath didn't have their top 3 guys on the mound... Bellview has the potiential to knock ONE team out of the 9th region tournament but NO chance of winning it this year..
