April 29, 200818 yr I just typed in a website that Simpson is better than Burton... :jump: I think he would have lasted to the 3rd round...
April 29, 200818 yr I think he would have lasted to the 3rd round... Heard your squeelers were going to take him in round 2 if he was still there.
April 29, 200818 yr I think he would have lasted to the 3rd round... Your Steelers wanted him in the 2nd...
April 29, 200818 yr Heard your squeelers were going to take him in round 2 if he was still there. I think Steelers would have gave him a shot in round 4. I am glad they did not pick Sweed, he may be the best receiver in the draft. :ylsuper:

April 29, 200818 yr They had Simpson above Sweed on their board... Thats funny in Tomlin's interview he said he had Sweed as the top receiver in the draft. I think I will take his word over yours.
April 29, 200818 yr Thats funny in Tomlin's interview he said he had Sweed as the top receiver in the draft. I think I will take his word over yours. That's your mistake. You know better than to listen to coaches talk about draft picks...
April 29, 200818 yr That's your mistake. You know better than to listen to coaches talk about draft picks... Still, I will take his word over yours...
April 29, 200818 yr That's your mistake. You know better than to listen to coaches talk about draft picks... Tomlin also said he had a first round grade on Sweed and I doubt anyone had a first round grade on Simpson, well maybe the Bengals.
April 29, 200818 yr Author Tomlin also said he had a first round grade on Sweed and I doubt anyone had a first round grade on Simpson, well maybe the Bengals. Ummm ha?

Enjoy Sweed for about 6-8 games because his seasonal injury will set in after that!! As far as Bengals are concerned, I will have to say B-. I love that we addressed need and still stayed with our board. The Shirley kid will be forgiven IF he can clean up his act. We are due for someone to learn a lesson. The safety from Appy St. will be a solid special teamer/backup. He's a smart football guy. I am not informed on Kansas lineman, although I've heard good things about him. Urrutia better show up in shape or I will be blasting Bengals for not taking Erin Henderson of Maryland. Why did he not get drafted BTW? Kid is a stud. Hello! FA signing???

Tomlin also said he had a first round grade on Sweed and I doubt anyone had a first round grade on Simpson, well maybe the Bengals. Sure they did.

At Texas, Sweed finished second in school history with 20 touchdown catches and fifth in yards receiving (1,915). What's more, he started 39 games in a row before he had surgery Oct. 16 to correct ligament damage in his wrist and missed the final seven games of the 2007 season. I think Sweed will be fine... I would give the Bengals a B- or a C+, I think they should have made a move to secure Ellis...
April 29, 200818 yr Riiiiightttttttt. He knows how to lie. Sure they did. Turned out to be a good decision, not only for Sweed, a 6-41/2, 219-pound wide receiver from the University of Texas, but also for the Steelers, who used their second pick in the NFL draft, 53rd overall, to select him -- a player they had rated among the top 25 overall prospects in the draft. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08119/877256-66.stm I put it in bold print so you could find it HT...
