Trinity and St. Xavier in the same bracket

Beechwood ... 73.5

More of a statement, LCA's end of year Cantrall rating was probably low. In other words, I think LCA would have done just fine against the bottom three 6A teams you listed.

Or maybe Beechwood just didn't play all that well in the finals against a definite underdog ... you would know better than me.

But for the X and T administrators being totally fine with being on the same side of the bracket (reason 1: it doesn't matter when you beat them, you have to beat them; and reason 2: as previously stated by others, X and T get to keep the gate when the game is earlier than the finals), 6A would have probably been set up the same way as the other 5 classes. Bottom line: if X and T didn't care and it will help diffuse the animosity in the state (which is not subsiding), why not do it? No smell issue here Ru (that's probably coming from your socks:D).

Do I agree that it more than likely result in a lesser quality team making the finals when X and T have to play before the finals? You betcha I agree. I'm not quite sure that I agree that such will have an adverse effect on Ky. football however. One can make the argument that Ryle making the championship two years ago has helped make the Ryle program stronger.

I think you are missing the point, it is the constant juggling around that doesn't pass the smell test.

Interesting you should say something about that. Maybe you have forgotten that the best I can tell from the KHSAA web site, NOTHING was changed in 6A from what has been in their handbook for three years, only which round starts the cross-bracketing.

Check, maybe it really is your socks.

I understand the KHSAA is trying to diffuse the anti-private school sentiment, I would just prefer it be done with tougher penalties for schools that violate the rules rather than treating the 6A brackets the way it is being done. However, T and X playing before the finals really isn't that big of a deal. If the powers that be decide T and X always should meet before the finals I would much rather the KHSAA go back to the Jefferson County champs vs. the state at large champs.

It's called Power and it will give someone else a chance to play in the big game. I see it as being a good thing for everyone.

I see it as socialism at its finest.
