"Luke, I am your father." Best line in cinema history, therefore that battle wins it all.

Maybe they did that because they kept the bodies they had at death. Anakin is the only one who "died" as a young man, even though he turned into Darth Vader. I wish they had left that scene alone, though.

Actually I liked the change. I had been watching episodes IV, V, and VI and trying to visualize Anakin as we now know him inside the Darth Vader mask. This helps. When we first watched the Star Wars saga in the '70s, Vader was strictly a charactor to be loathed. It adds a bit to the story if one can imagine him as Anakin, an anquished soul who chose the wrong path in his grief and greed.

I had to vote or Obiwan vs. Anakin that leads to Darth Vadar. Just the setting and visualization of that battle and the emotions involved are what sets it apart for me.
Same here. :thumb:

Obi Wan and Anakin.

The setting, the lava flowing, the angst.

Obi Wan loves Anakin and doesn't want to destroy him. Anakin is confused and has been driven over the edge by Palpatine and he thinks he has killed Padma after she and Obi Wan betrayed him. Then the visual of Obi Wan taking Anakin's remaining limbs and leaving him for dead after the fire consume him. Great battle.

The one culminating with "Luke, I am your Father" is a close second.

I voted for the Empire Strikes Back duel. I just can't see myself voting for ANYTHING related to the 3 prequels. Although, I did wait about 5 or 6 years between seeing Phantom in the theatres and then on DVD. The movie was actually A LOT better with that long gap in between and no hype when watching it the 2nd time.

I still don't see the 3 new films on the same level as the original and Empire, but the films aren't as bad as they were made out to be.

I just wish Han Solo could have cut loose with one for awhile!

Hokey relgions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side kid.

Problem is, Hayden Christenson didn't do anything to make me want to care about Anakin.

I genuinely found Darth Vader more likeable, because he wasn't pants-on-head retarded.

For what it's worth, the most dramatic and thus best (also because it doesn't involve CGI characters hopping around like stupid fleas on crack) is the battle between father and son in Jedi because this time Luke knows he is fighting his father and as such it draws the emotion of both characters to the surface.

Episode III's final duel was great. However the whole prequel thing was flawed. Anakin was bad from the beginning and didn't have this big fall from grace that we all expected.

Has anyone heard that there might be more STAR WAR movies to come, I think I heard this that it would be about when YODA was young.

Funny. I read your thread first, posted then came here.

Right on. Not exactly the best acting I've ever seen....
