April 10, 200818 yr Like I said before, any college would be lucky to have Billy D as there coach, I can't take this thread as much more than a bitter UK fan, still bitter that he turned UK down.
April 10, 200818 yr Billy Donovan is a top 5 coach in the nation, any school would be lucky to have him, I seriously doubt one rebuilding year would drop his stock. Typical UK fan. I think what BA40 was getting at was when Donovan left UF for the NBA and then 3 days later came crying back to UF. I personally don't think that Donovan is very trustworthy.
April 10, 200818 yr I think the jobs that are open now know they have no chance at getting Donovan, with the exception of Ok. St. and he has no ties there at all. So that is why his name is not coming up.
April 10, 200818 yr Donovan of course said NO to UK like we all know! If he turned down that job, then he isn't leaving Florida for Providence! Come on!!!
April 10, 200818 yr Author This is why things get started you and all the of the kentucky fans would have loved it if Billy D had came to kentucky im sure you were one of the ones on here posting it's a done deal Billy D will sign tomorow and im sure you wanted tubby back also. I dare you to go check the posts and see what I was saying.

April 10, 200818 yr I'll say the same to you. Go back and see what I said last year. Maybe you said you didn't want him, but to say his stock dropped is inaccurate, I'll say it again, He is a top 5 coach in the nation, ANY school would be lucky to have him. You can't argue is resume.
April 10, 200818 yr I'll say the same to you. Go back and see what I said last year. Hey! I agree with you. EVERY year at this time you hear a lot of the big named coaches names come up when mentioning openings, heck, even Kansas who just won the title is having to deal with talks that other schools are interested in their coach. It is a bit odd that Billy D's name isn't coming up anywhere. As GT sort of stated, PC wouldn't be able to get into a bidding war with other programs, they wouldn't be able to match the money he is bringing in now, not even close. But, you never know, he may want to go back home at some point. Where did Billy D grow up? I agree with the statement that the thing with the Heat is keeping his name out of openings for the time being. POSSIBLY a little on how he handled the UK opening, but more so the Heat thing. I do see him as a very good coach though, heck who wouldn't. I don't see you as being a "bitter UK fan", it is odd that his name isn't being mentioned. :thumb:

April 10, 200818 yr Is it odd Ben Howland isn't being mentioned for other jobs? Cal? JT III? Other than PC none of the open jobs would be of interest to Billy D, so he's not mentioned. Simple formula...
April 10, 200818 yr Name an opening you're surprised he hasn't been mentioned for, besides Providence (because that's comical.)
April 10, 200818 yr Like I said before, any college would be lucky to have Billy D as there coach, I can't take this thread as much more than a bitter UK fan, still bitter that he turned UK down. Im a UK fan and I was glad he turned it down...:sssh:
April 10, 200818 yr He is rumoured because he didn't have a successful season this year. Only the coaches who had good season are usually rumoured because it is nothing more than that. Billy D will get plenty of press because of the non-stop talk around and about UK athletics, not because he was successful because he wasn't,not as much as some would've liked anyway.
April 10, 200818 yr Gillispie to OK State interest has nothing to do with him being the coach at UK. Nothing...
April 10, 200818 yr If Billy D turned down a job like UK, I'm sure other schools would think he would do the same to him. No more no less. And for all the people who say they didn't want him to coach at UK, well good for you because he didn't want to coach there anyways. It's a shame that that he was the first person offered the job though.
