Clay County 35 Knott County Central 0

Featured Replies

Okay all you Eminence fans can share the hatred to Clay County now. Maybe Knott County Central and Eminence should play each other. Knott County Central has been outscored 104-9 while Eminence has been outscored 114-6.

Thanks for those kind words Hilltopper. :thumb:

I've said it before and I'll say it again, KCC has 3 returning starters. The rest of the boys haven't played since together or have not played since Little League. It's going to be a long season. And just like Eminence, the boys held their heads high and played on.

As for Clay County, they did not run up the score. Their coach and players were sportsman. Knott couldn't catch the ball nor hit the ball last night. Every team has nights where nothing goes right. Sure, not this bad, but these boys will bounce back.

You are exactly right. My senior year, our school had one of the better teams that we had had in several years. In a game against East Jessamine early in the season, we lost 28-2. Were we "that bad?" Not at all. Just played a horrible game. A couple months later, we beat them 14-7, made the regional tournament, and won close to 20 games.

Bad losses happen all of the time - but it doesn't mean you can't improve over the course of the year. I suspect KCC will be a much better team in May than they are right now.

You guys are going to have to stop reporting your football scores on the baseball thread.....

See post #3.

KCC used to have a pretty good team year in and year out didnt they?

Yea, they did. There are a lot of reasons for this. And I really do believe that the BOE is working on that problem. For the first time in recent years, we have players that play basketball and/or football as well.

Congrats to the boys of KCC, even though you are on the losing end you are a winner for not quitting and not letting a score get the best of you. The boys at Deming have went through the same thing and eventually things will change and you will be on the winning side. Keep your heads up boys!
