2008 Harrison County

Featured Replies

What does Harrison County need to do to improve in 2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Harrison will have an offense that revolves around QB Van Isacc and RB Aaron Newby! Newby looked very good throughout the playoffs until he was involved in the car accident! Isacc fought through a shoulder injury last year and brings experience at the QB position!

Harrison will be very good next year with Newby and Van Isaac. How will the line look?

Harrison lost all 5 senior lineman. Although, behind comes 3 senior lineman this year that are quite talented and very experienced.

Will they hear the air raid siren all the way down to Paris? It should be an exciting year this year. Good Luck Coach Stepp and Staff!!:dancingpa

It will be interesting to see how Stepp does at more of a "football school." He has quite a bit of regular season success at both Berea and Clay County, but never had the numbers to compete in the postseason. He should be able to at Harrison.

More of a football school than Berea or Clay County but still far from being considered a football school.

How have the kids adjusted to the new system? I would imagine that the "air raid" philosophy is a bit different then most of those kids have been used. Ray was a bit more "grounded" in his attack. What about defensively, what type of defense are they running?

I would agree. Harrison is by no means a "football school". Baseball...Baseball....Baseball. The kids in Harrison Co eat, drink, sleep baseball.

Back to the Breds.....Offensively, Isaac, Newby and Malcolm Thomas should provide some punch via the air and ground. The O-line was decimated by graduation losses.....and will definitely be a weak link. When you take in consideration a completely different offensive philosophy(Stepp's air it out every down)...vs. Graham's mixed bag approach....this will definitely be a transitional year....and it'll take the o-line much of the season just to understand role and blocking schemes.

Defensively, Harrison will have some speed.....but not great size.

Definitely a transitional year for HCHS... maybe a game or two over .500
