April 3, 200818 yr With all all three of their top receivers facing some sort of problems in Cincinnati, how do you think it will affect how they draft this year? Chad Johnson has repeatedly said he wants out of Cincy if things don't change. Chris Henry is in legal trouble again and could possibly be banned from the NFL. And the one receiver who has done everything right, Houshmanzadeh, is in the last year of his contract. One thing's for sure, the management will need to step up in a big way if they want to save face for an already mediocre team.
April 3, 200818 yr Clearly they now have a need to draft a WR and a RB (Irons rehab is apparently not going well) - two positions no one would have guessed a year ago they would have any need at all. It's a shame because they have such glaring needs elsewhere - DT, OL, LB, to name a few - and can ill-afford to be using high picks on spots they were so solid in a year ago.
April 3, 200818 yr Gotta go defense, IMO, regardless of their WR problems. The Bengals have got to get their defense fixed or else it won't matter who they have at WR or RB.
April 3, 200818 yr Author You build a team inside out. I agree that o-line, d-line, and lb need to be the focus. If you look at the Patriots, only this year did they have a superstar WR. They have one championships from having good lines to pressure the opposition.

How many picks are they going to waste on RBs?
April 3, 200818 yr Another RB? How many picks are they going to waste on RBs? Until they find a heir to Rudi, which is going to be needed sooner rather than later based on his diminishing performance last season. Irons looked to be the man, and maybe he will be, but he suffered a horrible injury and is apparently behind in his rehab. Perry and Dorsey are not every down backs and I don't see Watson as the answer.

April 3, 200818 yr Wasn't Perry a 1st round draft choice? I beleive so. But it doesn't matter. He can't stay healthy and is a third-down back at best.
April 3, 200818 yr I beleive so. But it doesn't matter. He can't stay healthy and is a third-down back at best. Do many teams draft 3rd down backs in the 1st round?
April 3, 200818 yr Author Perry was brought in to use more than just a Rb. He has great hands so he was drafted so the Bengals could use some 2 back sets and use Perry in the slot to get him in open field situations out of the backfield.
April 3, 200818 yr Do many teams draft 3rd down backs in the 1st round? Not many, but you do see it on occasion. I know St. Louis did when faulk was the starter several years back.
April 3, 200818 yr Do many teams draft 3rd down backs in the 1st round? No....Any RB drafted in the 1st round, better be a starter real soon. At least that's what Teams would hope.
April 3, 200818 yr Oline, Dline, LB and WR are all needs. Whomever is the best pick at those positions when it is their time to draft, should be their selection.
April 3, 200818 yr I think Thurman will ger reinstated in the next week or so. This will really help out. They def. are going to have to grab a wr and a rb now. There are plenty out there in this draft, so it shouldn't be hard.
