April 3, 200818 yr I think Thurman will ger reinstated in the next week or so. This will really help out. They def. are going to have to grab a wr and a rb now. There are plenty out there in this draft, so it shouldn't be hard. Why do they need a RB?
April 3, 200818 yr Perry was brought in to use more than just a Rb. He has great hands so he was drafted so the Bengals could use some 2 back sets and use Perry in the slot to get him in open field situations out of the backfield. Perry, even the small amount of time when he has been healthy, has never been used for anything more than a change-of-pace or thrid down back. He is not an every down back, not even close. It doesn't matter what he was drafted to do. The bottom-line is that he is injury prone and offers no long-term cure to the Bengals' RB situation.

Before they draft another RB wouldn't they wait and see how Irons returns especially with more pressing needs of LB, OL and DL?
April 3, 200818 yr Why do they need a RB? Rudi was pretty unimpressive last year and the hier-apparent, Kenny Irons, must now come back from a very serious leg injury, including rumors that he may not play this coming season. I would not exactly consider the RB position a strength for the Bengals right now and wouldn't be at all surprised to see a RB taken in the first 4 rounds.

With Andrews signed for 1 year and two others who have not made it through the last 2 seasons without injuires, you have to have an OL before it really matters on the RB. Denver has proven it is more the OL than the RB.

Denver has proven it is more the OL than the RB. Kind of odd that Kenny Watson had some pretty nice performances last season with the same OL as Rudi had. Rudi is s..l..o..w to hit the hole, breaks few tackles anymore, and couldn't break off a 30-yard gain if there were no defenders on the field (in fact, he hasn't had over a 22-yard gain in 2 seasons).

Check out the quality of the defenses with Watson's performances. I cannot exactly remember but wasn't one against the Jets who had one of the worse defenses in the NFL last year?
April 3, 200818 yr I say if Chad wants out, let him. Goi to Dallas and say, "If you want Chad, you are going to have to give us your 2 1st round picks." If that does not work, maybe go somewhere like St. Louis, New Orleans, or Chicago. Get 2 top 15 picks to attend to those glaring holes, DL and OL. In the 2nd round, if we do trade Chad for what I said above, go with Early Doucet. A quality receiver on a winning team. This team is not fixable in 1 or 2 years. Patience and cleaning house of bad attitudes is needed.

April 3, 200818 yr We have to look for a WR now since Chris is gone and who knows about Chad. Other than that stick to the D
April 3, 200818 yr Gotta go defense, IMO, regardless of their WR problems. The Bengals have got to get their defense fixed or else it won't matter who they have at WR or RB. :thumb: Their defense was awful last year.
April 3, 200818 yr You can always pick p a WR late, I think they still have to start with the D. D-line, LB, then WR. Some the best receivers come from late rounds.
April 4, 200818 yr Why do they need a RB? Perry=hurt Irons=hurt Rudi=washed up (too many carries) Watson=3rd down/chang up back DeeDee-3rd down back I think defense is the first need. DE, DT, LB grab a wr and rb after the third round. that extra pick will be handy
