July 29, 200818 yr It is 13 weeks (90 days) and it is 6 days/week with one rest day. You need a pull-up bar (or resistance bands, but they are not as effective, IMO), a yoga mat and some dumbbells. I have 8, 10, 12 and 15 pounds, and my husband has a Bowflex SelectTech set. You also need a DVD player and a place big enough to work out. That and the resolve to keep pushing play even when you are exhausted and have no free time to work out over an hour each day!
July 29, 200818 yr Where I work out we have been doing the lower body (plyometrics) when you jump for about 45 minutes and 15 minutes worth of abs. I do some pretty intense kickboxing and running, the P90X workout is really difficult. The creators of this thing were smart as well. It is marketed towards people that consistently workout. Normally you see the infomercials where it will show a guy go from 400 lbs. to 170 lbs. in 10 weeks. The P90X is pretty intense for anyone that has never worked out. Even in the infomericals the testimonials are from people that were in shape but got in even better shape after starting the program.
July 29, 200818 yr So what do you do after the 90 days are up? Just quit? Start Over?Put back on the weight you lost
July 29, 200818 yr So what do you do after the 90 days are up? Just quit? Start Over? There are suggestions you can follow for post-P90X, such as doing the first set of weight reps and doing either Plyo, Kempo or Core once a week and Yoga once a week. I will kind of just see what happens and if I feel like things are changing, then I'll just go back to the regular workouts. I don't think it will be too hard to maintain as long as I work out at least 4 times/week. That will feel like a vacation compared to the last 3 months!
August 3, 200818 yr Ok, I'm absolutely burnt out on the gym right now and I'm thinking about trying this to shake things up, so will this thing tell me what to do every day?
August 3, 200818 yr Ok, I'm absolutely burnt out on the gym right now and I'm thinking about trying this to shake things up, so will this thing tell me what to do every day?I've watched these info-mercials also and this workout, looks intense and great. I need to begin something like this also. I just hope, they can revive me after 5 minutes, much less 90.
August 3, 200818 yr The infomercials look intense and I'm just flat bored with the gym, especially the cardio portion so I'm thinking this might be a good way to get a cardiovascular workout with doing the elipitical for hours on end

It is very important to pass the provided fit test before trying out P90X, though--it is not easy by any stretch of the imagination.

August 3, 200818 yr I'm good, I ran 5.5 miles in 43 minutes the other day and I can hammer curl 50's I'm good to go , just have a little belly :'(
August 3, 200818 yr I'm getting ready to start the workout part. I can't see me sticking to the diet part as dieting isn't my thing. I'd say I need to drop about 20lbs to be as healthy as I could be.
