P90X Workout

Featured Replies

Has anyone else successfully gone through this 90-day program?

I just had my first workout last night and it nearly killed me but I can't wait to get home and do it again tonight!

I haven't talked to anyone that uses it, but I have watched the infommerical and it looks like a heck of a workout.

I did P90x, I started it last May 28th, finished sometime in August, I lost 4 inches in my waist, gained to inches around my chest, gained and 1.5 inches around my biceps, here's the biggie...I lost 42 lbs......my blood pressure dropped from 128/70, with a resting heartrate of 70 bpm, to 110/60, with a resting heartrate of 60 bpm......it is worth it, but extremely difficult. STAY WITH IT, no matter what.

That's encouraging to hear. Congrats on your success! How did you feel about the diet plan? Did you mainly go by the portion control, detailed meal plan or quick option? The detailed plan can get expensive but i'm going to shell out the extra $ because I really want to see these results.

89 More days to go, haha!

I am very savvy in the kitchen....I mainly stuck to the calorie count per day, about 2,500 - 3,500 calories a day, never going over 800 calories in any one meal.

^ thats funny you mention that. I am on a weight loss program(My own) and I am trying to stay under 2,000 a day. 2,500-2,500 seem like a lot.

^ you would have to understand that p90X, burns an immense amount of calories, 2,500 go fast...

Check the link out, so that you can see what your intake should be, to lose weight.

^ Wow that says 2,800 would be ok to get to where I want. I will stick with my under 2,000 plan and try to get there quicker. I lost 4 pounds this first week.

^ You will do that, but your body will start to break down some, and your energy stores will be depleted.....eventually making you feel very tired.

I take Hydroxycut Hardcore.

I stayed under a 1000 calories for around 3 months one summer and lost nearly 60 pounds. I ate mostly vegetables though.

The weight came off very quick but rock pride is right, towards the end, I had very little energy. If I were to start dieting again I'd stick around 2000 calories.

Someone give me a sample of what the p90x work out consits of please. I've been thinking about buying it for the last month but cant decide.

My main question is this:

1) I need wrist and shoulder surgery. It's one of those deals where it's not going to kill me if I don't have it but if it starts to get in the way of my job or things I enjoy then I need to do it. How much actual lifting is envolved in the workout ?

2) What kind of equipment do I need for the workout ?

I've been thinking about getting it for my wife and me. Can you just order one plan or do you have to get two. I think I'll look forward to the workouts but I don't do well with diets. How hard is it to keep up with the diet part of it?

There are a ton of push-ups and pull-ups involved. If you struggle with pull-ups you can choose to use resistance bands. So basiacally all you need is a pull-up bar/resistance band. Dumbbells are used sometimes but again the resistance bands can replace these as well. Other than that you just need a positive attitude, healthy kitchen, and a dvd player.
