There are a lot of bad things with Wal-mart's benefits and other things inside the company. Go into a Wal-mart and mention a union and watch how they act. I got kicked out of a Wal-mart in NKY because I was buying a Video game that every other store was sold out of and I was paying with a credit card that had Union Local 1099 on it and the cashier called the manager and they made me leave without being able to buy the game. They also told me I was no longer allowed to come in their store.

 

Hard to believe:confused:, but not doubting you at all. I just can't see anyone first of all looking at the logo on your credit card close enough to see who issued it and secondly can't see anyone at Wal-Mart turning down a sale.:lol:

 

When Wal-Mart used to have store managed charge accounts I know of several Unions that had charge accounts at Wal-Mart. Most issues between Wal-Mart and the Unions are at corporate level and store associates never really get that involved in the bickering back and forth.

You shouldn't have been there in the first place. I'd be willing to bet Local 1099 isn't happy about you being there. If you're as strong a union person as you're making yourself out to be, you had no business there. I don't shop there because of my union allegiance. That will not change either.

The problem, especially in alot of smaller towns across Ky is that WalMart is the only store to shop...most of the mom & pop stores have folded because WalMart took their business leaving customers no other option!

 

I go to school at U.Cumberlands in Williamsburg, and that is the ONLY PLACE to go for anything.

As far as the injured lady goes, this is a tragic story. It would be better for Wal-Mart to look the other way. If they did they would be letting down the over 1 million people cover under their insurance plan. Each associate pays a share of their insurance for themselves and that of their family if they choose that coverage. If the insurance carrier looked the other way that would be $450,000 that would have to be made up out of everyone else's' premiums.

 

Did anyone notice that Wal-Marts insurance had already paid over $400,000 towards her medical bills. In most cases Wal-Mart Insurance does not have a maximum payout. How many of you have insurance that will pay out over $1 million if you need it? Wal-Mart's does and then some. If the accident had happened to this lady while she was at work it would have covered.

 

I have been with Wal-Mart for over 25 years, so go ahead and take your shots. I have held every level of job there is in a Wal-Mart. If you have any question about how things really are just ask, I have absolutely no reason to lie about it at this point in my career.

I'd have thrown you out too. Who you trying to fool here? You went in there know that UFCW 1099 is fighting with Walmart trying to unionize there stores. Either you violated union bylaws by shopping there or you specifically pulled out your 1099 credit card to stir up trouble. Either way, you were in the wrong.

And this is exactly how it happened? So did you get something in writing stating that you werent allowed in this store again or was it just words?

 

They just told me I was not allowed there they didn't give me anything in writing.

My apologies. I thought you were a 1099 member. My suggestion would be not to use that card at Walmart in the future. There's bad blood between 1099 and Walmart.

Not to say anything bad about your friend but the Pharmacist are usually the most removed person in a store as far as knowing what is really happening in the store. They come in and go to the pharmacy, spend their shift and go home. I can count on one hand how many times I have seen a pharmacist at a store meeting or even the associate lounge in my 25 years. They for the most part are simply out of touch with what is going on. They make their $100 grand a year and go to the house, they rarely are involved in anything that actually goes on with the other 99% of the associates in the store.

 

Wal-Mart pharmacist are some of the best in the industry, they just have very little to do with the store other than taking care of their customers and filling scrips.

I worked at Wal-Mart for a couple years in college. I worked up front for a couple months then moved to the Pharmacy. I do agree, the Pharmacist is pretty removed from everything to do with the store, but its not like they dont get wind of everything that is going on either.

 

That being said, in my experience, Wal-Mart is not as bad as the reputation they are getting. However, they aren't exactly angels either. It's all about the bottom line at Wal-Mart. They don't really care about anything else like when Sam was around. I have spoken with plenty of people that have been with the company for years upon years, and they have talked about how much the company has changed. Some ways good, some bad.
