Anyone have any good stretches or exercises I can do to lessen the pain associated with this and throwing?

If you have not already done so, you need to consult with a physical therapist. Every person and each injury is different. A physical therapist can tailor treatment to the individual.

A torn rotator cuff is nothing to mess around with and......all due respect to my fellow BGP'ers.......this is not the place to get treatment for it.

Good luck! Hope you heal!

Wellington ortho. They will fix you up.

I have seen an ortho about it, I am just trying to put off surgery until next winter.

Why put it off? Things only tend to get worse.

That one last softball season may cost you more in the long run.

I already play first so I don't have to throw!:thumb:

Possible...

I would seriously think about getting it fixed now. I messed my shoulder up pretty good playing softball about 7 years ago. I never had it looked at and went right into flag football. I was our QB, and I was in so much pain when I threw a ball that it brought tears to my eyes. I threw side-arm to deal with the pain through the football season. After football, my stubborn self figured time would let it heal, but I was wrong. To this day, I cannot throw a ball with the same velocity or distance like I used to for an extended period. Therefore, by the time I warm up, my shoulder is shot. It's uncomfortable to do any type of shoulder exercises from push ups to free weights to machines.

And if your congrats in another thread has something to do with later this year, then yeah, you probably have one year left in you (at least for a while). :sssh:

Well said. Take care of it now. Twenty years from now you will thank yourself.

Like I said, I don't want this last year of ball to be thrown away rehabbing! :thumb:;)

Why do you only have one last softball season in you?
