I am proud of all the boys at Rose Hill they played extremely hard. I think both teams showed a lot of class after the game and you can tell both teams respect each other. I would just like to say I thought Scott Gambill played a good game and hit some nice shots. I know he is not a big factor on this team but he loves his team and will do his best to help them.

I feel like Maynard would give them some better options. Would it change their record - probably not. Would they be a better team - probably so.

In the last 3 years Coach Mays has led Elliott County to a Class "A" regional title, 2 runner-up finishes in the EKC confrence, a EKC confrence title, 3 straight district titles, 3 straight regional finals appearances, 1 regional title, and a quarterfinals appearance in the state tournament. Just a little information to add to the aurgement.

Does it really matter? Pat Riley is a genius with Kareem and Magic and co. and a has been until D.Wade and Shaq win him another crown. Now, he's a hasbeen again. It's about the players, plain and simple. I'd guess if you asked Roger Zornes if his record this past season suggests he absolutely forgot something about basketball he'd tell you that you can't eat caviar on a vienna sausage budget.

I think there is no doubt that Coach Mays has led Elliott County to those accolades. With all the distractions surrounding Elliott County's team this year, how many coaches could have held this team together the way he has and put them in the position they are in tonight? My guess is, not many.

How many coaches would have allowed for those distractions to happen? Not too many.
