Rambler, you are correct!!! So many times we don't enjoy the moment. These kids are very talented and successful. I hope that many people from EC will enjoy this legacy that this particular group of kids are putting on display. There are only a few that speak loudly about the coaches and officials, but "golly gee" just savor the moment and appreciate the joy and happiness that this team is giving you day in and day out.

Congrats to Elliott County on the win and best of luck in the Championship game.

Also hats off to Rose Hill on a great season.

I will address both comments, you (Elliot) have a record of 25-3 this season and 25-7 last season. Have won back to back district titles, are getting ready to maybe win a back to back 16th Region title, last season you did win the 16th region and went on to Rupp to advance to the final four of the Sweet Sixteen Boys H.S. State tournament. That proves two things to me for sure..........

1.) you have to have very good talent and good, dedicated kids.

 

2.) Your Coach must be doing someting right! A record of 50-10 over the last two years and so far and still playing this season. :eek:.

 

I am not putting down or singling out anyone by quoting these paticular post and I certainly mean nothing personal. I am just saying that I have read several comments from time to time on here about the Elliot coach and complaining about referees and the like along with other things. Again, nothing personal and just an observation from an outsider to the Elliot program..........

I wish that the Elliot fans (some, not all) coud enjoy their kids and school's sucsess more than they do. I remember times and not to long ago and for years that Elliot was a pretty bad basketball team and the talent was lacking, hardly no one in the bleachers sporting them and quite frankly were the team along with one or two others that people were wanting to draw or play in a tournament.

So, Elliot fans what I am trying to say is that you have a fantastic basketball team filled good kids as well that are on that team. These times are not going to last forever and I know that other teams fans are enjoying watching this group of kids play so I hope that their own fans (again, not all) could quit looking to point fingers and find blame and enjoy your team playing, they are very good. Learn to handle and deal with sucsess. Of course having said al of this I realize that there are always things that go on "behind the scenes" that no one on the outside would know and those kind of things imo should be dealt with internally and kept that way.

There will always be some outside people finding ways to put your team/kids down, that is a promise, they certainly don't need it coming from the "inside" as well. I guess what I am trying to say is that time goes by way too quickly and none of know what is in store in the future for any of us so enjoy the present.:thumb: Good luck to the Elliot Co. Congratulations to Elliott Co. on the win. I think Timmy Knipp is the MVP of this tournament so far. The crowd was great last night.

 

I am very proud of Rose Hill and the way they played, not only this game but the whole year. I have enjoyed this season very much. Although it is personally painful that this season had to end, I knew it would happen eventually. Twenty wins (with one of the toughest schedules in the state), an All A regional title, 6-0 in the district regular season, and a district championship. Not bad for a team that people thought only had two players and a coach who didn't know what he was doing.

Tim Fraley is a great man. I know his heart and how much he loves these kids. In my opinion he is the 16th region coach of the year.

Both seniors on this team, Tony and David, are models for every high school kid to follow. Hard work, dedication, and love for people will take you far.

Good luck to the entire team, I will be cheering for you in whatever you do.

Why Ferguson came out right before Halftime and why it took so long to get T. Knipp back in the game when it was clear to see they needed another Ball handler on the floor.

I was upset that Euton was getting pounded the whole night and nothing was called. Next I would like to say that I think RH coach should have realized this and given Euton a breather in the second quarter. He was being double and triple teamed and that is hard for anyone, Mike Davis did great and in the first quarter and then he was gone. I do not understand RH coach at all?

Great job Elliott County. Congratulations on the win. I absolutley believe Rose Hill is the better team. We didn't get the job done. It happens. One team has to win and the other will lose. Congratulations Rose Hill on a great season and we are very proud to have all of you represent our school. Thanks to the entire coaching staff. Thanks to the parents of these fine young men who have worked their behinds off all season. A special thanks to our senior player: Tony Arthur. He goes at it full throttle every game. What more can you ask for?? :flame:

Elliott took the first blow from RH in the 1st Q and after that they came out swinging in the 2nd Q and took control from there. They were up 14 at one time Ferguson got a Rebound late in the 3rd Q went back and got Hammered by Euton and Jackson and no foul was called Jackson got the rebound and went to the other end and hit a 3 and they called a touch foul and he hit the FT. The Refs let Ferguson and Euton get beat on last night.

I'm sure the rest of the Elliott faithful wanted to shake their heads at the same time. When each were taken out EC was getting ready to go back on offense so why not leave them in & try to get them out on the next defesive end. I'm positive neither were in foul trouble. Another question why is Maynard not starting or getting more minutes? Its obvious he gives them a lot & has really played well. When he is on the floor the defense opens up so much more for everyone else & now that they finally have Timmy Knipp understanding how valuable he is inside on the "O"& how well he plays there things would open up more.

In my opinion Elliott is the better team. They deserved the win. Elliott got away with no more fouls that RH--heck NEARLY everyone agress that the officiating is consistent. Maybe not good, but even.

 

I applaude the officials. My job is easier than theirs.

Elliott Could be the sleeper in the stat tourney if they get there.

Congratulations to Elliott Co. Also I want to congratulate the young men from Rose Hill. Twenty wins with the schedule you played is not too bad. Good luck to both Elliott and East Carter tonight. I think either team will represent the 16th Region well.
