Dixie moves on in the 9th

I just caught the end. Conner struggled the last couple of minutes

Not a very exciting game, but congrats to the Dixie and good luck against Holmes.

IMO, if Conner plays a 2-3 zone and packs the middle, then they possibly win this game. Conner didn't have anyone that could man up with Mace as he dominated the middle when Dixie fed him the ball. Plus, Dixie couldn't hit an outside shot. I would've forced Dixie to take the jumper. In a game like tonight, Dixie coaches have to get Mace a touch almost each time down the floor. When they got away from this Conner came back and took the lead. On the defensive end, Mace should've parked his big body in the middle of the lane, and he never should've came out higher than the volleyball line, unless his man hit a few shots. His man almost never looked to shot, and by Mace coming out, it gave Conner some easy looks inside, and it put Mace into foul trouble.

Man did Dixie get lucky in this one. Conner was up 39-32 with 2 minutes to play and Dixie puts on a 14-2 run to end the game including a baby hook by MAce to give them the lead with 45 seconds to play. Kudos to the Dixie players for not giving up. Key turnovers at the end of the game by Thomas and a travel call on Pugh killed any chance the COugars had of coming back.

:confused: Conner didn't take the lead until the 3rd. It was 15-13 Dixie at the end of 1, and 25-22 Dixie at the end of the half.

It was a close game the whole time. Conner took the lead late in the third and lost it in the final minutes of the fourth

Your correct... It was the Red Colonels third time they beat Conner this year. Hicks is a great coach though, he had a great game plan the Triangle and 2 really bothered the Colonels offense. Lawson only had 2 points and Kendall had 12
