No question he made some big shots, congrats to him, but with SW out of the box in one and playing man, Watts should have had the ball in his hands IMO...Hindsight is 20-20 LOL...

Like I said , they may not have made the shot, or they not have executed it right, but you still have to present your team the best opportunity available to win a ball game. That was not done, IMO, the last 7.9 seconds.

I'm not exactly sure which raider touched the ball last, but they threw it away and Southwestern recovered it at half-court. So I would like to think that it wasn't a coaching era.

The 2nd thing I want to say is thanks to all the fans that believed in us and showed up to support us tonight.

 

The 3rd thing I want to say is I have the utmost RESPECT for Coach Jones, his staff and his team. His teams are always well coached and they always play hard and physical. I don't buy it that SW wanted it more. The Radiers had all the expectations and pressure in the World on their shoulders and SW had nothing to lose and was able to play relaxed. The Phillips kid was a beast, Watts made some unbelievable plays, and Swiggert hit some key clutch shots. And Musgrove hustled his tail off all night as always.

 

Trevor Jones did carry SW at times but TT Wooldridge hit some clutch shots at key moments in this game.

 

I think the difference in this game was 8th Grader Cody Epperson hit 3 big 3's in the 2nd quarter to give SW a halftime lead. But Coach Jones put Musgrove on Cody in the 2nd half and he shut him down.

 

The other difference in the game was Taylor Fothergill hit two big threes in the 2nd half. He was 3 for 20 comming into tonights game. I give Taylor credit for having the courage to take and hit those big shots.

Wow, great win for Southwestern on the Raider's home floor. Amazing Southwestern could win on a night that the Raiders attempted 16 free throws to the Warriors 3. Tough loss for the Raiders who have another great regular season spoiled in the first round of the District. Last season a 20-7 Raider team lost to a 13-16 Wayne Co. team. This season a 24-4 Central team goes down to a 4-21 Southwestern team. Could overconfidence be a problem? Either way congrats to Coach Schulz and the Warriors! All 3 Pulaski County schools will be in the Region for the 2nd year in a row.

I also was at this game and thought the refs did a fine job. Sure warrior would say that they missed calls in the favor of McCreary, but anyways, McCreary missed more lay ups than they made. I have a question for all: You're down by one with six seconds to go and you're point guard is trapped in the corner; What do you do? Let's see bounce it off the leg, call a time out, something other than throwing it to three defenders. I hate to say it but chalk this one up to the coaches.

I talked to Swiger a few days before the tournament about some of the losses, and he told me that the players sometimes acted like against a lesser opponent that they just needed to put their jerseys on and they would win.

 

McCreary missed 18 points worth of layups and shots inside of four feet to the basket. It looked like not everyone on the McCreary bench wanted to win. Swiger did everything in him to get the Raiders by, and I applaud him for that. A senior that will be one of the best, maybe not talent wise, but effort wise.

There is also a player that starts for the Raiders that tries to do everything (not Watts) and usually turns it over. Woolidge (?) was on fire and couldn't miss. I don't know if the coaches didn't say anything, but I don't understand how a player or two can be wide-open for four three points that all went down.
