February 28, 200818 yr I have always been a fan of "My two cents" with Andy Roonie on 60 minutes. A few years ago he suggested that perhaps we are at the point where the country needs to be split into two seperate countries. Liberals on one side and conservatives on the other. Then maybe each respective government could properly govern their people without the constant bickering.

The "leeches" on gov't would all go to the liberal side because the conservatives would make them work for what they got. You could have universal healthcare while we keep working on reforming the current healthcare system we have now. It's not perfect, but it is based on capitalistic ideas, so it is fixable. And you could be darn sure that our borders will be closed and heavily fortified and patrolled. Crime rates would be down because gun ownership would not only be legal, it would be mandatory. Marksmanship and safe handling would be taught in PE at school. There would be enough money in social programs to take care of those that really need help, because the funds set aside for these programs wouldn't be getting cut to fund programs for illegal immigrants. Yeah, I can already see the upside to this. Go for it Gooch!

Considering the "liberal" states include California and the West Coast, New York and most of New England, and possibly the majority of the Great Lakes States; I think the Economies would be fine. California alone has one of the top 20 economies in the world by itself.

But the conservative country would be in debt so bad to China for the wars they would be in. So in sense they would be more broke.
