February 25, 200818 yr I think the Memphis game would hurt his stock as far as being a high pick. Showed he struggles against athletes where he has to create his own shot. Saying that, I think he will have a career as a spot up shooter as long as he gets on the right team. It pains me to say this but he doesn't seem to be much different than JJ Reddick and I don't believe JJ is playing much these days.

A small 2 guard that can shoot is no shoe in in the NBA. Why has JJ done NOTHING thus far? He is two inches taller than Lofton according to what is listed, and that is probably still giving him an inch or two. Bottom line, Lofton has to learn to play the 1 to play in the League. Come on, the NBA doesn't play defense until the playoffs. Defense in the pro game is no where near the college game.

The whole point of the thread is to discuss Lofton's NBA viability and AcesFull made a valid point regarding that. Just my comment on comparing Lofton to Bradley and Crawford (sorry to upset you Mr. Joe) IMO I did address his NBA viability (that's a smart sounding word by the way) I felt he may never play in the NBA.

College game, mostly, 2-3 weapons per team. And you have to guard 2-3 players. Pro, you have to guard 5 people almost on every possession. NBA plays the best defense in this country. It is just that the rules are favored to the offense and the offensive players are the best in the world. If you disagree, how many points would the Lakers score against a college team? More than they score against the Pistons? the Spurs? the Celtics?

February 28, 200818 yr I don't think he's as good as Jeff Shepherd was and we all saw what kind of pro career he had. Lofton is definitely the better shooter, but Sheppard was the better overall and more complete player.
February 28, 200818 yr And whose team is ranked Number 1 in the country? Lofton may never make the NBA but he has got alot out of basketball to this point, I would have loved to have had a college experience like his! I hope they enjoyed their 29 hours at the top. 99 years to get there.... lol.
