Settlement is reported to be for $750,000. I think he will do fine for himself for the next few years of not having a job.

Dan Dakich named interim coach.

Hearing they are trying to work out a buyout instead of the suspension.

Dan Dakich is interim coach.

I'm just glad it's over!

Time to move on!

So he cheats and gets paid for it?

My sentiment exactly. A guy cheats, violates his contract, and gets paid for it...........so goes college athletics anymore.

O'Brien (Ohio St. ) was found guilty by the NCAA, which Sampson for these latest accusations was not.

He sued the university and won for wrongful termination. B/c they fired him before the judgment came down.

Like I stated............so goes college athletics.

Former Vermont coach and ESPN basketball commentator Tom Brennan just said it best. I am still laughing.................

"We have to live in the greatest country in the world, O.J. Simpson will be playing golf tommorrow and K. Sampson gets $750,000 for leaving a job that he cheated on"

This is todays world of college athletics, getting 750 grand for leaving your job after cheating and then lying to your employer. While promising not the sue them for wrongful termination. Absolute joke imo.

An "anonymous donor" ponied up $550k of the buyout!

Wow!!

I have no remorse for Indiana basketball and their administration. They knew what they were getting when they hired him away from OU.

I don't think anyone is asking anyone to feel sorry for IU or it's fans.

Just ready to move on...

Now that IU has cleaned up the face of their program I hope they can move on and once again become one of the elite basketball programs in the country. Good Luck to them.:ylsuper:

STATEMENT FROM KELVIN SAMPSON

I have made the very difficult decision to leave my position as head coach of the mens basketball team at Indiana University. While I'm saddened that I will not have the opportunity to continue to coach these student athletes, I feel that it is in the best interest of the program for me to step aside at this time.

I wish my players and staff nothing but the best for the remainder of the season. They are all truly incredible people. As I have previously stated, I welcome the opportunity to go before the Committee on Infractions in June. I look forward to getting back on the basketball court in the very near future.
