The most likely reason would be because of the team Sampson has put around White as compared to the team White walked into with Davis. Obviously the talent level in Bloomington is as deep as it has been in over 20 years, and all the forward progress I am assuming White attributes to Sampson. I think he feels that with Sampson out, the surging Hoosiers will once again take a step back, much like they did in the late Bob Knight era-post.
February 23, 200818 yr Personally I agree with most the angles, but let me throw this out there: If you were an IU player, how would you feel if your coach was yanked away mid-season, while you are in the hunt for a Nat'l Championship? I guess with Sampson at the head, a Championship might have been out of the picture anyway?
February 23, 200818 yr A boycott will show Indiana nothing. The only thing this does is take someone who is first round pick (White) how to knock his self out of the NBA. The NBA wants players not people who skip practices and cause distractions.
