February 20, 200818 yr Depends on the type of jobs that left or created. Low wage with miminal to no benefits, no problem seeing them leave to other countries. I can assure you that we aren't sending the upper management positions out of the country. The one thing about this that I fail to understand is that, there are plenty of good jobs in the US. The key to getting those jobs is education. Everything starts with education. Someone mentioned that they were confused why Republicans are throwing all this money at education (it is a Democrat position or something), but it should be the number 1 concern. Even more than healthcare.
February 20, 200818 yr Wealth is best redistributed by the wealthy reinvesting their money into the economy. And that's all I have to say about that.
February 20, 200818 yr Author I don't think business leaders are dumb enough to cripple one of their best markets by taking all jobs out of this country. Well if that is the case why not tax the business owners at 50 60 or 70%? After all, they make much more than they need right? If we continue to raise taxes on businesses, two things will happen: they will either leave or quit producing and therefore nothing will be left to tax.
February 20, 200818 yr Who do you think are the people earning 500% times the poverty rate? Alright then, let's make it a million. And I know that is not the small business owners in my county that are providing a bunch of jobs.

No. If they do the latter than they cut their own throats and lose the American market as income will drop and no one will be able to buy anything. I can't see the American business leaders being that stupid. Maybe they are that stupid but I would give them more credit.
February 20, 200818 yr Wealth is best redistributed by the wealthy reinvesting their money into the economy. And that's all I have to say about that. So, you think "trickle down economics" works? Do it work in theory or in practice? How much investing do you think people are making right now? Is this a good time to start a business?? imo, "trickle down" will work in a thriving market b/c people spend money & are not afraid. But when we're approaching/in a recession or in a bad time of the economy those people do not invest or create jobs.

It increases the supply of loanable funds. Therefore, the interest rates on loanable funds goes down. More businesses borrow from the bank and use they money in investment projects, as well as R&D. These new projects increase the standard of living of each individual American, rich or poor, because of new inventions and innovations.

February 20, 200818 yr someone has to watch out for those pets, connect the cable and make the socks:D That is not investing but spending for a very small market. One fashion designer charging $400 for a pair of socks. To me, investing is reinvesting in businesses to create jobs that are not a small market.

But that is not what seems to be happening.
