What does North Laurel need to do to improve in 2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

I am curious for this thread because I believe that North Laurel and Lawrence County are trying to play each other this year.

They are playing each other this year week 1 in the Cumberland Valley Bowl at North Laurel

I feel this is a make it or break year for NL. If they don't contend for the district title I think their will be some changes made in the HC postion. THey have some talent returning and got some young kids with experience from last year. So they should be better. If they want to win some games they will have to develop a hint of a passing game.

My son and I took this bowl game in two years ago and had a very good time.

I am almost tempted to make that long drive again to see Lawrence County play again.

Yes, Andrew Roark was promoted from o-line coach. He was an assistant at Bell county before that.

Great turnout tonight for the Jags. Could be one of the most athletic groups in a while. Not a lot of size but some strong kids in the mix.

North Laurel must become more balanced to have any chance to win in their district, not to mention how tough the non-district opponents will be. IMHO I can't see NL winning more than 3 or 4 games in 2008. Will that be enough to buy Coach Abbott another season?

I agree and think competing for the district title this season after a 1-9 campaign is asking a bit much. I think if they show improvement from last season and are more competitive against the better teams, 3 - 4 wins could keep him around. I believe they will be more competitive this season and will continue to improve the next few seasons.

I really think they will be better and much more competitive, I just feel like their at least a year away from competing for the district title. Did you ever find out who NL is going to scrimmage?

Not yet. I was with a NL football parent this past weekend and forgot to ask him. I will find out tonight. I may even see Coach Abbott and ask him.

I think they will go to Somerset for a scrimmage on August 15...though I'm not sure if they play Somerset or one of the other Pulaski schools....
