Boys 2/19 AP Poll

Featured Replies

1. Mason Co

2. Lexington Catholic

3. Bryan Station

4. Scott Co

5. University Heights

6. Jeffersontown

7. Holmes

8. Eastern

T9. Elliott Co

T9. Corbin

T9. Muhlenberg North

Also getting votes:

Knox Central, Male, PRP, Hazard, Adair Co, Henderson Co, Marshall Co, North Hopkins, South Laurel, Lincoln Co, Montgomery Co, Cumberland.

It's worth noting that Mason Co got 8 of 9 first place votes. That other first place vote went to University Heights.

I like 13th region basketball, but 4 teams out of 22 getting votes? Who were casting votes?

The High School AP poll is a joke. There is no way to get an objective poll from only nine voters that are not evenly distributed around the state. The reason for the 13th region love is that the papers in that area are AP publications and have votes. Not trying to hate, the 13th has some good teams, but not four of the top 22.

I have thought that the BG preps poll has been pretty accurate all season.

Welcome to the board. We have mods everywhere, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. :thumb:

Anyway, back to thread. You seem kinda wishy-washy, how do you REALLY feel? :p

The AP and and the Cantrall are both way off from being perfect. No one sees everyone else, so its hard to get an accurate voting. I believe Corbin fans would acknowledge right now they aren't a top 10 team, although they think they can be 1 based on their potential, but they haven't played great in some games recently. But they have a lot of talent and a very good coach.

I'll say it again, the people voting in the AP should be honored by the chance and take it a little more serious.

Or just don't turn one in....................

Combovers1 does seem to be one of those people who has trouble expressing his feelings. He is going to have to just let it fly, and quite holding back.

Welcome, combovers1, if you have any questions feel free to ask myself or one of the other moderators. And be sure to visit the new members forum.

Holmes loses one game by one poin on a last second free throw and drops to #7? Top 4 looks good to me, but I'd have Holmes at #5 in front of UHA and J-town.

Looks like I got off the the right foot, or maybe it was the wrong one, ha ha

If Newport Catholic was within sniffing range of the top 20, you might have a valid point. Holmes' schedule is still rather suspect, and that's why they're not ranked where you think they should be.

As Ram said, we were just having some fun. Feel free to post away!

Just as long as you don't ask about the location of the 10th region tournament OR talk about San Francisco basketball, you are good to go. :thumb:
