Whitley beats Casey three times....by 2...by 24...by 6

McCreary beats Whitley by 47 at McCreary.

 

4-1 record against the 12th not bad for a lower tier team.

 

The 13th is stronger, and has more teams who can play, maybe not a great team like the South Laurels of the past couple of years but they have a bunch that can really play.

However, the 13th Region is 15-2 against Monticello (3-18), Southwestern (3-18), Rockcastle County (10-17), Casey County (10-15).

 

Corbin, the favorite this year in the 13th, is 4-0 against 12th with wins:

East Jessamine 10-16

Somerset 17-8

Wayne 16-9

Rockcastle 10-17

 

McCreary Central, one favorite from the 12th (Lincoln hasn't played a 13th Region team) is 3-0 against the 13th with one game remaining (Williamsburg). Their wins are:

Middlesboro 13-14

Whitley 12-15

Cumberland 18-5

I think this season the 13th is easily the best region.

I can promise you that us at East will beat Mercer if we play them again.

 

Based on the brackets on the KHSAA web site. You'll get the opportunity to lose to Mercer for a third time in the first round of district tournament.

Last years juniors all star game which would be this years seniors which was between the 12th region and 13th region was won by the 12th.

The 12th Region All-Stars nipped the 13th Region All-Stars by a score of 91-89. The victors shot 42.5% from the field including eight of 29 from beyond the arc. They were an ice-cold one of 15 from beyond the arc in the first half but found the range in the second half and connected on seven of 14 from long range. The 12th Region All-Stars connected on nine of 15 free throws and pulled down 59 rebounds. The 13th Region All-Stars shot 38.6% from the field including eight of 31 from the three point line. They connected on 13 of 18 free throws and grabbed 49 rebounds. The 12th Region All-Stars held a 20-10 advantage in second chance points.

The 13th is the best region in the mountains every year

Also, saying Rock or PC could wipe the floor with Barbourville is a joke.Play dinky in a one and done game, and the game would be CLOSE!

 

Rockcastle beat them 91-55 at Barbourville Pulaski has beaten Rockcastle twice this season so AS OF NOW, they are better than Rockcastle. Sorry if you are a Barbourville fan, but box scores don't lie.

 

I will give you the fact that Pulaski may not beat Barbourville but Rockcastle already has, badly.

Rodney Woods and Jeff Jackson are better coaches than Steve Wright

Boyle County beat South Laurel a couple weeks ago. Boyle is pretty far down the pecking order in the 12.

I will say this, I think LC and McCreary Central could handle anybody in the 13th.
