3. Ballard

4. Warren Central

5. Pleasure Ridge Park

6. Mason County

7. Male

8. Paducah Tilghman

Honorable mention: South Laurel, Christian County, University Heights, North Hardin, Dunbar

If we were cutting it off at the last 5-8 years, I might agree ... but South Laurel wasn't much of a statewide factor in the mid-late 90s, which is when my evaluation period starts.

Lafayette is a program that is down right now may have the more state titles than any other in the state. Someone check me on this.

 

Not sure what has happened with Lafayette, but maybe some alumni need to get involved and prop that program up.

 

Didn't they win the 11th about three years ago? Also won a state championship in last ten years?

Lafayette won the state title in 2001, beating Male in the final.

PRP is a great program.

Teel Bruner's Laurel County team that won the state title was very good. One of the best basketball games I've ever watched was the region finals that year between Laurel County and Pulaski County in the 12th at Boyle County HS.

I agree, Lafayette can match anybody in terms of state championships. They seem to do well when they have a good team but aren't consistently good each year like some of the others mentioned.

Please do not mention Ashland with the likes of these other programs. Ashland had a losing season this year and if I recall they lost 9 games in a row at one point. What Ashland did 40 to 50 years should not factor in. The bottom line is what have you done lately. NOTHING.

Guess Scott County definitely # 1 since getting Dakota, and possibly Jackson. Funny how things work out.
