Top Offensive backs from NKY for 2008 season

I don't want to bash, tarnish, or in any way diminish the year/career that Mr. Farris has posted. He is a superb athlete and I wish him nothing but the best at UK. That said, give JC the # carries along with the success of his team (for the 2nd year in a row) and JC's #'s would be SICK and he WOULD be a serious contender for the MR. KY award. But 'Crunch makes the definitive case against him...IT"S ABOUT THE TEAM !!

Farris definitely did more for his team than Josh. Considering that Farris put up incredible numbers hobbled from the very beginning of the season through-out, I'd put my money on him. His size plus speed, added that he is a D-1 athlete tells me enough.

I'm sure that Farris probably did more for his team than Josh did for Highlands; then again Boone County didn't have the depth and breadth that Highlands did last year so it was absolutely necessary for Farris to do more for the team than Josh did last year. Plus Josh was a junior last year. This year you may see Josh play a bigger role than last year.:sssh:

And while it wasn't talked about on here (thank goodness) Josh was pretty banged up for part of last year. I won't go into details, but in the first CovCath game, he was really banged up but admirably gutted it out.

It's really kind of a fruitless exercise debating these kind of things. Both Farris and Josh were/are exceptional athletes. The point that I didn't agree with was just because Farris didn't get Mr. Football there was no way that Josh has a chance to get it. Farris' chances were really hurt when he announced pretty early that he wasn't going to play football in college. Frankly, if he had accepted a football scholarship to UK instead of a baseball scholarship, his stock in the Mr. Football voting would have been even higher. Peace and its time to leave the office and go home.

Mike Murphy -- IMO one of the best. I played that run run run offense and we did pretty good.

I totally agree about Mike being one of the best coaches (and persons) around. Still see Mike pretty often. Class act. He did a great job at Newport after he left Highlands (and of course did a great job at Highlands also). I was glad I was able to play my sophomore year with him as the head coach. And he did love the run, which is somewhat ironic considering his passing records as UC's qb. We had a little ditty we used to sing (sung to Old MacDonald had a farm): "Old Coach Murphy had a team, buck, guts and o'lead. With a buck, buck here, and a guts, guts there, o'lead, o'lead, o'lead."
