Very physical game and very ugly. Both teams were in double bonus with 6min left in the game and officiating was not good for both sides.

 

This game was decided at the free throw line where St. Henry was 16-21 and I believe NCC was 9-21.

 

Cameron Speed led St. Henry with 17 (8-9 from the free throw line) and Michael Lipscomb led NCC with 14.

Might have been the worst officiated game I've ever seen, for both teams. Key traveling call on NCC with less than a minute was something else. NCC player was under the basket and I believe St. Henry was fouling him on purpose to put him to the line(since NCC was horrible from there) instead of making a layup. Many times NCC fouled St. Henry on drives to the basket and nothing was called. I would guess that less than 25% of offensive fouls are called correctly. The one on Lipscomb that would have tied the game was unbelievable. It's almost impossible to drive to the basket in high school basketball anymore. That's one reason why the scores are so low. That was the worst 1 point game I think I have ever seen.

I hate when officials are a factor in the outcome. Either way, congrats to St. Henry. When I saw them early in the year, I thought it was one of the worst St. Henry teams I have seen in awhile, but they have proven me wrong. Dave does an amazing job year in and year out.

The slide continues for NCC. There record this year (2008) may be 1-8. Maybe nku20 can give us the correct record.

 

Not even close. You might want to do some research before you make a bad comment like that. Since Jan 1st 2008 they are 7-4.

 

Why did NCC not play a game in between the All A Classic and Tuesday? Were they that over confident that they would win the All A Regional?

Just out of curiosity does anyone know who did the officiating on this one?

There was a play where an NCC defender had St H tied up for 10 seconds and the official forgot to count. Play stopped(timeout perhaps) NCC coach was HOT! Play resumed with the ball being in play for 3/4 seconds and the same official called 5 seconds and Coach Faust came unglued!!!! It was a bad night for the officials!!!

I don't think they cost NCC the game. It looks like NCC might be having some player personel problems. It looks like Lipscomb who's appears to be the team leader and go to guy get's no good looks? The ball never goes in and out to him? He should be getting 20 a game.

I don't know what you mean by player personel problems but they are struggling on offence right now. NCC doesn't really have a player that can create their own shot consistantly so everything has to come from a play. I think if they ran the ball more they would get more open shots.

I agree with you on that. It looks like there might be some big guy small guy issues as far as giving up the ball. Geisler was passed up several times but then he never gives it up and he's notgood enough to play that way he needs play inside out and he'll become more of a scoring threat. But if that doesn't fit the coaches game plan than it's a non issue. NCC can run but that would hurt Giesler wouldn't it? Bieting seems to lose the ball when he get's moving, doesn't dribble well? Running would get Lipscomb some more looks and then help get Connor open looks which would get Pangallo more involved beating guys down the floor which he's very good at.

Hate to do this but this is another misinforming post! Shields and Wright did the game. If you guys are going to say something about the officials at least do some research before you post an incorrect name. That makes the official look bad who wasn't in the wrong and makes you look worse.

Here is the problem with NCC.......They aren't that good. This team is missing Keirnan because he was such a dominant inside player. Lipscomb is the best all around player they have and he has a lot on his shoulders.

 

Geisler is ok, a role player maybe but not a stud on the inside. They have good size but average skilled post players.

Pangallo is a very nice defender, but is smaller than most players he guards. He also can't shoot the 3ball consistantly which hurts.

Conner is a great shooter who you can't leave open, but I really haven't seen him hurt the opponent anywhere else on the court.

Meyer is going to be a very good player for him but this is a learning year for him.

Lipscomb is very good shooter and drives very well, he isn't a great finisher though and doesn't shoot FT extremely well either for such a good shooter.

 

They do have some nice players though and will be fine, but aren't at top 5 9th Region team.
