I'm sure they won't want to see them again, but if they have to, then they'll be ready. It'll also help to have Downing back, and maybe this time they'll try not to foul so much! Fouls were a factor for the Royals too, having King and Miller on the bench in trouble.

 

IF there is a 3rd match-up, it could be an interesting one, given the first 2 match-ups, and since having the region at your own gym is such a huge advantage, then Montgomery Co. should win easily, RIGHT? :sssh::lol:.

Downing makes a big difference to the Royals. Montgomery has a tough team and MC fortunate to come away with a win. Pawsat showed he can play with the upperclassman as a freshman, Trevor Setty was only Royal rebounded seemed like at time. Teams are going to double and triple team Darius and other Royals have to step up. Russ Middleon nice game. Regional tourney will be a battle for the Royals.

Royals find a way to win, Downing suited up but didn't play - precaution? King whistled for his second foul less than 2 minutes in. LOTS of PT for Tolle and Pawsat, who pretty much subbed for each other - the 10 or 12 points the Royals got from that spot were big. Extended PT for Hamm as well.

 

I'm not sure where the BG officials A, B and C tandems were tonight (Scott County/Station game and where else?), but I'll give the Indians credit; they played tough, made a lot of hustle plays and stayed with Mason County pretty much the whole way. Stull played a great game; without him it's a blowout that goes Mason County's way.

Correct on the first bolded - Downing makes a lot of those hustle plays that the Royals lacked tonight.

 

Correct on the second bolded - Pawsat played well. Still finding himself at times on defense, but tonight proved he can be counted on in a tough contest.

Final bolded - we're really seeing eye to eye tonight. Anyone who thinks the Royals will be handed the 10th title this year on a silver platter is sorely mistaken. Montgomery gets after it on defense; isn't afraid to push the ball on offense. They have a nice team.

Agree Papa on all points and I might add, if Downing is full strength then Stull doesn't break loose with those points. Downing is the Royals on ball defender at the point and Blaine Stull, while doing a good job running the Indians offense, is not going to get 22 points with Keith Downing guarding him. Give Montgomery the credit, they brought it at Mason County. Give Mason County the credit, minus their best defender, they still win and that should be the case closed.

I agree, I was referring to another post that said Downing would have guarded Stull. I think he may have guarded Clark or even Rash, but not Stull.

 

The Pasawt kid had a nice game in his place and he's just a FROSH I believe. :eek:

You're right about that....GRC should have no trouble with Montgomery as they have a much higher Cantrell rating.
