Question, when was the last time a district loser gone on and won their regional tournament? How many times has it happened?

Actually this thread is more of a statewide question so maybe they can let em both stay open and we can have our own little 9th Region thread above. : )

Sorry. Hey as you pointed out there was a time when Bellevue and Dayton have competed and taken down HHS. Another thing to chew on as, has a team ever coasted in their district finals knowing that they're in no matter what?

Toughest District in the state possibly.

In 2001 Highlands lost to NCC by 16 in the 36th district and then won the 9th Region.

I agree.

JBS done it last season in the 14th. They lost to Knott Central in the 53rd District and went on to beat Hazard in the championship game of the region.

Hopkinsville won the state title as a district runner-up in 1985

Lafayette was a district runner up when they won the state also. The only game they lost all year was to Tates Creek.

 

I think Apollo was a district runner up a couple of years ago when they went to the state finals
