Has anyone heard anything about who the Rockcastle assistants will be? Does Scott Parkey have control of who he wants or does the school make that decision?

I wonder how crappy Les Scalf feels for drawing that famous picture of Larkey and Saylor now? I still think it is historic (for Rockcastle) but it looks weird to walk into Roses One Stop in Brodhead, and see that picture hanging up.

 

Coach Larkey and Coach Saylor will be remembered for a long time in Rockcastle Co. I am sure Les Scalf will never regret drawing the picture. That picture hangs in a lot of places. If you think it is weird to look at it then turn your head. Do you think the two could be together for eternity?

I did not mean weird in a bad way. I should have said unusual. I have recieved a TON of heat for this. So allow me to say, that I think Tom Larkey and Tony Saylor are great coaches. I would be willing to debate anyone that doesn't think Tony Saylor is the best Defensive mind in KY high school football.

 

I actually know 5 people that have burned the picture (or threw it away after smashing it, but that is neither here nor there) what I was trying to get out of reporting that is if anyone else was CRAZY enough to feel the same way.

 

Stop hounding me guys, I am a huge Rockets fan. Looking at the picture will not make me puke or gouge my eyes out with forks or anything like that. I meant that it is UNUSUAL to look at the picture now.

It is still odd you would even bring the subject up since you think so highly of each coach. I think real true and informed fans know why Caoch Larkey left. Seems some are not to informed and speak without thinking.

I would love to see the 2008 RCHS team go 8-2 or 9-1 or 10-0 but with the schedule they have, I think they should go about 7-3. They're going to be in the same boat as they were last year. In last season's games, they were one play in four different games from being 9-1.

 

They open up with a very talented Pulaski County Maroons team in the Ray Correll Bowl in 2008.

 

As far as the offense goes, I do think they have a good enough quarterback to fit the system that Coach Parkey likes to run.

 

I hope I am wrong but Rockcastle County may not have the season some think they're going to have in 2008. The year people should look for the Rockets to make some noise and go deep in the playoffs will be the 2009 season when this past year's sophomore class will be seniors.

I agree on everything you just said. The experience in close games last season will be a BIG HELP for Dustin Bishop. I think the Bell County game will be closer than a lot of people think, ESPECIALLY because Rockcastle is at home.

From what I have always been told, Dustin Bishop has all of the tools to be a great QB, smart, pretty good speed, big, and strong arm. I see no reason why Rockcastle wont be successful this year and win 9 or 10 games. This team is loaded with experience and will be next year also. There is lots of speed this year and skill to go with it.. The defense will be very dominate. I quite agree. I hardly think any team is going to be so afraid that they will lay down and give up. No one not Rockcastle, Bell, Pulaski, or even the pro should take any team for granted. I think everyone should take one game at a time and not get cocky.

Why should Rockcastle respect Pulaski, not being disrespectful but what has Pulsaki ever done? Pulaski has one good season and now all of a sudden they are great and think of themselves as Rockcastle. I personally think no one in rockcaslte will give Pulaski much respect becasue they havent accomplished what Rockcastle has. I thnk they even won 1 game a few years back, no district titles or region titles. Sorry but I realy think Rockcastle fans will be upset if they lose to Pulaski because it is Pulaski and they are not known for football, but basketball.
