:thumb:Agree and lets hope EVERYONE and I do mean EVERYONE inside and outside the school lets the man do wht he does best and that's coach baseball.

Ludlow has always been a great baseball town and I would hope that the new coach is given what he needs to continue the tradition.

Beigs seperates the "men from the boys" and some follks don't like that. He can flat out coach and you better be ready to run thru the wall WITH him!!!!

Good luck in the up coming season. As someone said before, I hope the program helps him get what he needs for success. As I know of a coach that was froced to quit so the boys could get what they needed.

He is definitely the best head coach Ludlow has had in this decade, and maybe even longer. I sure he will do a great job with the program. I know he is coming into a good situation, because he has a lot of players back from last years regional team and also plays in a weak district. So should have a good chance to bring home a district championship for Ludlow. Even though it wouldn't be as good as my district championship when we beat CovCath and Holy Cross to win it in 2004. That was probably the best baseball class to ever come through Ludlow! :thumb:

Head Coach was coach Highfield, and assistant coach was Mike Clary. Who I must had to be one of the top assistant coaches in the whole area. He really knows baseball, and makes good smart baseball decisions. Having him as the assistant really helped Ludlow. Especially at the end of the year around district tournament when they beat CovCath.

You are so right. It's all the asst. coach's doing that Ludlow beat Covcath that year. He made incredibly awesome decisions while coaching first base.

If I am not mistaken Mark Childress was the varsity assistant and Clary was the JV coach that year. So Chilly would have been making those important calls from fist. :ylsuper:

Ludlow has had a long tradition of good baseball teams and I played against a few. I remember one team in 64 or 65 I believe that went to the regional final. Throughout the 60's and 70s the Ludlow teams could play and beat anyone on any given day so I'm not willing to call your 04 team the best in school history down there.

 

Good luck getting that banner or picture hung down in your gym. Wasn't your coach that year also the AD now. Seems to me he would also want to see that team recognized..

I stick by what I say, that team was the best to come through. And could and should have been EVEN BETTER, but I not going to get into that one on here. :thumb:

You know what you are right, I don't know how I forgot about Chilly. So Im sorry Chilly my fault I didn't mean to leave you out at all. I just had a brain fart when writing that post. I know Chilly had a lot to do with that win, because he motivated us by saying he would buy B-Dubs for us all if we won, and he stuck to his word after we won and we probably made him broke with everything that we ate!

I sense some sarcasm from you here. However Chilly who coached first base did play a big part in the win because he had a very good motivational tool for us in B-Dubs! And now for you sarcasm, you really might want to know the situation before you use sarcasm. Because a decision the assistant Mike Clary made before the game, that had to do with who started played a HUGE part in the win for Ludlow. If it wasn't for that Ludlow probably doesn't win that game. Coach Highfield though made some good decisions though on when to bunt, and did so at the perfect times. Everyone played their parts in that win, just some more than others...As I have said many of times though, that Ludlow team should still have been ten times better than what it was, but that is another story.

 

That was just a great win in Ludlow History, and its a shame that if you go into the school or the gym, that no one could see it recognized ANYWHERE. Because Ludlow has done NOTHING to recognize that win and what the players did for the school and the program. :madman:
