I didn't see a real good game like others have said. The officials seemed like they were calling against each other all night and one of them was reversed by the other at least three or four times. Clark county was not shooting well and not rebounding either, that is a bad combination. Montgomery better enjoy this season because next year will be a different story!

From the article in the paper today....

Overall, the Indians connected on 10-of-20 shots from behind the arc, converting most of those in the decisive second quarter.

“Hats off to them,” Humphrey said. “They did a great job.”

Clark made eight treys, but took 25 shots.

Humphrey said his team depended on the perimeter shot too much, instead of being aggressive.

“We didn’t get to the free-throw line enough,” he said. “We did some good things when we attacked, but at times we settled for a perimeter shot, when we should have attacked the basket more.”

The Indians made 14-of-18 free throws compared to 2-of-5 for the guests. Montgomery also held a 37-33 edge on the boards.

2nd quarter is what got GRC. We jumped out to a 16-4 lead....but I knew that Montgomery would start hitting and come storming back. #30 for MC..I believe that is Crisp ..got hot and shot the lights out. Great game for him. Stepped up when his Indians needed him.

Article tells about both boys and girls games.

Montgomery County with a great win. Always plays well at home. Lookout 10th region.

Good to see Brandon Rash step up offensively. If he continues to score and Clark and Stephens play to their potential this becomes a very good team.

I agree somewhat on the officials. I was very surprised to see such an inexperienced crew for this game. Anyone familiar with the MC/GRC rivalry knows what an intense atmosphere this game always creates. I got the feeling, especially early on, that they were a bit overwhelmed at times. I'm not saying that they had any bearing whatsoever on the outcome, but the officials were not always on the same page in this one.

This is the kind of aggressive game I've been waiting for on the offensive end from BR for a long, long time. I hope this game is a sign of things to come from him. He has all the tools to be a special player, just needs to show this kind of agressivness on the offensive end more often. :thumb:

I watched the news and it showed Remel Bradley at the game sitting with his Clark Co friends. He said he enjoyed the game and huge crowd for a high school game.

I want to say Happy Birthday to my little red head...Evan Bennett...his birthday was yesterday. Happy Birthday little buddie.

The Cards played again this afternoon against Pendleton Co...I haven't heard the out come of that game yet, I went to the UK game.

Who is Montgomerys next game?

Montgomery's next three games are:

Jan 29 at Western Hills

Feb 1 at Bourbon County

Feb 5 Mason County

I was very surprised to see BR be so aggressive, sometimes single handly taking on all 5 of clarks players on his way to the basket. Anyone who has watched MC basketball a lot knows how special of a player Brandon can be he really was the spark which got things going for the indians. He was the only player taking high percentage shots early in the ball game. His play along with Azery Crisp's play is what really pushed the indians the entire night.

Congratulations guys!

Wish I could have seen the game. GRC is young, so they will be tough next year.

Stenzle is looking good for GRC, considering he is just a freshman.

Robby did not have his best game last night. Even when he is on.....he does not play like a Freshman. He is not our only Freshman. Cory Rogers also starts for the Cards. He got into early foul trouble last night so we brought in Travis Pervis...also a Freshman.

GRC has some great young talent coming up and they are getting valuable varsity experience now....will only pay off in post season and next year.

Great win for the Indians. Blain Stull had 9 assists, Josh Clark played on a slightly tweaked ankle, Brandon Rash played solid, Crisp was a zone buster. Total team effort.

Great win for the indians, good luck in the district with that number 1 seed!

He should be playing a whole lot then a freshman.

Maybe you should get your facts straight before you say something like that. He is NOT supposed to be a junior.

How is that possible?

As long as it was prior to his 8th grade year, he could be in middle school as long as he wants - he would only be ineligible if he turns 19 before August of his senior year. IMO - a smart move by the Stenzel family to use the rules to their advantage - however long he may have been in middle school. It will only help Robby get a scholarship to a higher level college.
