Your are incorrect on 2 of those three names, and I could not confirm the third. I don't know who your source is, but you got a bad beat!

One thing is for sure, there will be some good looking young kids there that got a lot of experience as Freshmen. They could have been much improved this season under Lucas but we will never know for sure. Seems it was a hard sell to take the spread, pass happy offense to a team known for successful rushing offenses. That sort of change DOES take some time but evidently Lucas was not afforded enough time. I wonder where his son (QB) will go to school next season and where will Lucas re-emerge. Anybody?

On another note, where does J-Town go from here (if indeed Carmony is the new coach at Butler). This late decision by Butler leaves another school in a bit of a pinch for taking applicants, interviewing then getting a new coach ready for Spring Football.

I don't know Coach Carmony, but I wish him luck. Out of the seven seasons as head coach (4 at J-town; 3 at Butler) he has compiled a 23-40 record. Why is anyone thinking he will turn the program around?

Hearsay or fact?? Regardless, its not fair to these men to sling around their names if we do not know for 100% certain. Coaches can loose their job for interviewing for others. Ask Doug Lucas what happened (or was threatened) to him at Fairdale and look at what happed to Ty Scroggins last year at Doss before he eventually got the Central HC position.

 

And it appears now that all three did not even interview. That was my point.

I worked under Catlett at Ballard a few years ago. I was paid. I have the JCPS paystubbs to prove it. Maybe a miscommunication?

Boy, a lot of names are being thrown out here for this job without any real "confirmation". As to why anyone would leave J-Town...it may not be a reflection of J-Town...could just be someone looking for another opportunity elsewhere. Not saying one school is better over another, but maybe at Butler the opportunities to work with better athletes is present. Dont think J-Town faired all that well last season. Granted its not like someone is leaving a place like Shawnee to go Doss or someplace like that...but in the end, it never hurts to "look".

Getting back to my original point, I would think with all the names being tossed around on this thread, it might be better to just wait until there is definitive, reliable confirmation on these things before some parent, administrator or AD gets on here and gets ticked off for seeing a name on there that really shouldnt be there. I thought only confirmed names were to be put out here but that is me going off the history of reading BGP. Good luck to whoever becomes the coach.

This may be another thread but may be pertinent here. Because of the freedom of information act, any coach that applies in Cininnati would be subject to their name being posted in the newspaper. So let's say that a coach at a rival school did want the Butler job but wanted to keep it on the lowdown- no can do. If someone informed can confirm, can the interviewees list be retrieved at any public school here in Kentucky?

I was told just a week ago to the day that they were the best candidates that had applied so they thought but I guess he is a puppet and not a decision maker. Maybe it was who he wanted to apply. I believed him being in the position he holds at the school. If this message board gets someone in trouble I would be surprised.

I have heard that in the past some head coaches have inquired about a job for an assistant coach on their staff. Although I think it's great they are looking to help a co-worker advance I think it could add to the confusion that info-seekers like us help propagate.

We as parents are hearing things from other schools and blogs and not from where we should, our principle and athletic director. We are trying to improve our situation and not looking for more drama by hiring a coach who was there previousley for 3 yrs, and then fired suppossedly. I think all involved at Butler should have some sort of say in the matter. And by the way, I wish Coach Lucas the best wherever he goes.

Why should "all involved at Butler" have a say so? This same reason is why "Butler" is in the spot it's in now. There are too many people over there that think they have a "say so". Just because you may have attended the school or have child in the school does not give you power to "hire or fire" anyone. This is the Principal and AD call. Parents should just support the next coach that comes in. If Scott is the next coach at Butler, good luck and best wishes.
