Is Shaq overrated?

Featured Replies

Plain and simple.

Figured it would do the job.:thumb:

Also, I don't know how we can say he was more dominant than Wilt. I was just sitting here thinking about it (because I always say Shaq is the most dominant) and thought how could you give anybody that title over him.

The fact that Wilt the Stilt would likely not body up too well with Shaq. Same height but giving up about 50 pounds to Shaq. If the refs let Shaq get away with most of the stuff they did when he was at his prime (walks, blatant fouls underneath while bumping any player that came near him), I don't see how Wilt could possibly match up with him.

Shaq was dominant against better competition such as other 7 footers & not a 6'6 guy.

For the first time today I saw a highlight and the thought crossed my mind... "Maybe he just should have retired after they won the championship."

I know Shaq isn't the type of player that was going to do that, but it is almost sad to watch him as such a shadow of the player he once was...

In his prime, Shaq was the most dominate big man in NBA history. He is just getting old and his body and mind are starting to wear down. Not overrated, just old.

Both are true, but we always judge players by what they did in their time. Especially when considering who controlled the league more I think you would have to look at them in their own time.

Are you kidding me? Wilt played against some of the best centers of all time. Bill Russell, Nate Thurmond, Willis Reed, and Walt Bellamy to name a few. And with way fewer teams played against them more often.

During most of Shaq's career most people wondered about the disappearance of the great big man.

Old and has AWFUL knees. Sorry to say it but the guy needs to call it quits before he makes a joke of himself. I hate it when players hang on to long.

No, he is not overated. He is 34 or 35 years old with 335 lbs. pounding on his knees every night for 85-100 games a year.

Not overated.......just over the hill.

Shaq isn't overated it's just time for the big guy to hang it up, and IMO will retire as one of the top five players of all time.
