acemona Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I thought it was great fun, and I really like Edwards' ideas. Obama is growing on me and I like it when he gets his dander up.
HHSDad Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Obama and Hillary continue to pummel each other. I'm beginning to wonder if either will survive.
MoreheadEagle Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I think Obama is going to be a VP candidate if Clinton gets the nomination. They'll kiss and make up toward the end. Obama is still my guy though.
ladiesbballcoach Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Question and it is not meant to be a slam. The bogus email going around about Obama, why is Hilary's camp not catching some heat about this? If it was in 2004, GW and Karl Rove would be catching all sorts of heat as an exmample of dirty politics.
ladiesbballcoach Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Ironically, that present vote is getting heat for Obama on both sides of the abortion debate. The pro-life side does not like it for obvious reasons and now Hillary is alluding that he is not as strong on abortion rights as he should be because he voted present instead of for the abortion issue.
HHSDad Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Here's a gem from the debate: Noting that former President Bill Clinton is often called the "first black president," Obama was asked if he shared that opinion. First, said Obama, he would have to investigate Bill Clinton's "dance abilities" to more accurately judge "if he is a brother." Clinton said that could be arranged.
Habib Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Question and it is not meant to be a slam. The bogus email going around about Obama, why is Hilary's camp not catching some heat about this? If it was in 2004, GW and Karl Rove would be catching all sorts of heat as an exmample of dirty politics. I don't know, from my following of the campaigns it seems like plenty of attention has been given to the dirty politics, especially out of the Clinton camp.
ladiesbballcoach Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I liked Obama's comment about Bill and Hillary responded that Bill isn't running for President and Obama replied that at times he cannot tell who he is running against.
cshs81 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I liked Obama's comment about Bill and Hillary responded that Bill isn't running for President and Obama replied that at times he cannot tell who he is running against. I was going to mention this as well. It was evident later in the debate when Hillary compared real incomes of blacks under Bush as compared to real income under Bill. Is she saying blacks should hope Bill comes back?
MoreheadEagle Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Having a spouse that is a former president is a mixed blessing for Sen. Clinton. The risk of using Pres. Clinton too much is always there.
kygirl Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I watched the debate and came away with a couple of thoughts. They all felt that John McCain was going to be the Republican nominee. I felt John Edwards won the debate. Obama was on the defensive end most of the night with Hillary being on offense. It was very entertaining.

thegooch Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I am beginning to love John Edwards, he has truley stayed out of the mud slinging and is trying to run his campaign on his ideals and ideas.
The Professor Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I think Obama is going to be a VP candidate if Clinton gets the nomination. They'll kiss and make up toward the end. Obama is still my guy though. I don't believe this will happen. By the time these debates are over and the dust has settled on a nomination, there's going to be too much division and bitterness between the two. Clinton would love to have him on board, but I think he turns her down. He doesn't like her. Now, Reagan and Bush were able to bury the hatchet in '88, but their differences and sparring did not match what we are seeing between these two.
