January 22, 200818 yr I am beginning to love John Edwards, he has truley stayed out of the mud slinging and is trying to run his campaign on his ideals and ideas. He has stayed out of the mudslinging as a result of him being #3 and not a serious contender. With that said, I do respect his crusade.

If you're not considered a serious contender , no one throws barbs at you so you get to be the nice guy. If John was a serious threat, more barbs/accusations/claims would be coming his way and he'd have to respond as the others have. He's the nice little boy in the corner as far as the Dems are concerned.
January 22, 200818 yr Is being on the defensive a bad thing? No, I don't think its a bad thing but I don't feel its a good thing either. I feel that it is time taken away from real issues instead of trying to defend for instance why he(Obama) voted present rather than yes or no. I would have liked to hear more specifics about his health care plan.

So your issue is not with Obama but, rather, with those attacking him who took time away from him to espouse his views on health care. When you're the lead dog, you get attacked. When you're attacked, what do you do? You defend yourself, right? So blame Hillary if you didn't get the chance to hear Obama talk about things important to you.

No way that Obama and Hillary resolve their dislike for each other and share a ticket.

I am still hoping that whoever the choice is that they pick Bill Richardson as their running mate - brings some serious experience to the ticket and ratchets up the respectability level.

January 22, 200818 yr Whats your thoughts on Edwards HHSDAD I think he's an ambulance chasing pansy with no substance and nothing to talk about except sticking it to the man. But he has good hair and that brings in the votes.

Anybody who runs a competitive campaign involving a Clinton will have some animosty at its conclusion, but Kennedy did put Johnson on the ticket. If Hillary wins, I do not think that Democrats can afford not to put Obama on the ticket. Unless there is a public (i.e., fake) reconciliation between Obama and Hillary at the convention, many black Americans will stay at home or even vote for the Republican candidate on election day. If Obama wins, there is absolutely no way Hillary is the running mate.
