I would have to agree with thebigfella23. Notre Dame will not be the same team next year with a year of experience under Clausen's belt. Weis will have him ready to go along with the rest of the team next season, and they will return to a bowl game after sitting this past season out.

GO IRISH =)

Hard to really see a freshman recruiting class having the ability to impact an immediate major improvement. They were a horrible, horrible football team last year and that one year of experience for the current players is not enough to suddenly turn them around either. They will be lucky - mighty lucky - to go .500 in 2008, but it will (unfortunately for ND's fans) likely be enough to keep Weis around another season.

I am not talking about this years incoming class(which is amazing and will be great). I am talking about the freshman and soph's of last year that will be junrios and soph's. Those too where great class's and a lot of them played last year. Have you seen ND's schedule? they would have to be worse then last year to go .500

You are talking about a team coach by Charlie Weis. Yes, I give them a good shot to finish under .500.

So your bashing CW. Three super bowl rings. Made Tom Brady and Brady Quinn and eventually Jimmy Clausen. Way more talent in these class's then any of Ty's(Including Quinn's class)

Well, actually, Tom Brady made him. 6 of his 8 years as OC in NE, their offense was in the bottom half of the league. I think a pretty substantial case could be made that NE has done quite well - even better - after he left. Brady Quinn? Please. What has he done exactly? And Clausen? Wow, you are touting a guy that has done pretty much nothing. Maybe one day, but not now. As far as his recruiting classes far exceeding Ty's, I guess we'll have to see, huh? You surely don't have any stats to prove he's done any better in that area to date.

Well lets see before Charlie Weis, Brady Quinn was just horrible and I mean horrible. Then Charlie becomes coach and he helps turn him into a guy competing for the heisman trophy. Also you put Weis down as a coach, but he is a guy who took Notre Dame to two BCS games, yeah they didn't win them because they lost to just better teams. However he did get those guys there. Then last year was just a really bad year plain and simple. They had lost pretty much their whole offense and defense from the year before and was playing a lot of INEXPERIENCE guys against a VERY TOUGH schedule. You did see this team start to show some improvement as the year went on..Also as for Claussen your right he didn't really do much of anything last year, but did you watch the games? He barely ever had time to get rid of the ball, and was still getting over that shoulder injury before the season even started. Now for Ty, well we are seeing Notre Dame probably made a smart choice because well Ty is about to get fired now from Washington...You putting down Weis is just funny. Everybody knew last year was going to be a rough year, did we expect it to be that rough not at all, but it happened. This year should be ten times better..
