Should he have predicted a 23-17 defeat? Would you have liked that better?

 

He shouldn't have predicted anything. He should have said "We're going to go out there and play our best, execute our game plan, and see where it goes from there."

Shoot, shouldn't have given the score, saying you can win is one thing or you will win if you play your game, but predicting a score to me is just feeding the media a little bit of news. I agree w/ HB20, nobody is gonna predict their team will lose unless their team is just straight up bad, but just say hey, we'll win and leave it at that.

I don't have a problem with it. I like confidence. If the Patriots need a prediction by Plaxico to make them play hard, then the Giants are in good shape. It's the super bowl for pete's sake...everyone is going to play hard the entire time no matter what.

HB you are in such a great situation right now. If they win you are going to say see I told you so and if the lose you will say well no one thought they would be here anyways. It will be tough to get any shots in at you after the game.

Ok although I have no real problem with what Burress said it was dumb. Yes it's great to have confidence and everything but now it's become a distraction. If he is confident do what other players do and say it in the clubhouse, you want to get your team pumped up do it inside the clubhouse. No reason he should have said it to the media, he knew it would be taken to this extent.

I guarantee you that NONE of the Giants players are "distracted" by Plaxico's comments.

I really hope the PAtriots win, but I have a feeling the Giants will.

"Pride, Poise, Team and Belief"

 

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Giants' final team meeting was held at 8:30 p.m. Mountain Time last night at the team's hotel. Per VP of communications Pat Hanlon, here's what went down:

 

*The team watched a 2½-minute video that included highlights of their three playoff victories.

 

*Lt. Col. Greg Gadson, the inspiration for the team this year, spoke for about five minutes about "pride, poise, team and belief in each other." That was the gist of his message before the Week 3 game against the Redskins that turned this season around.

 

*Coach Tom Coughlin then spoke. Hanlon said Coughlin told the team "that he really hoped they feel like they are having the time of their life. And for the first time, he shared his personal feelings about what it meant to him when we won Super Bowl XXV at the conclusion of the '90 season. He talked about what it feels like to be world champion and how that feeling is shared with your parents, your spouses, your grandparents, your children. He told them that he wanted to win today so they and their families could feel what he felt back in January of '91. And he told them they had earned the right to experience that and that they deserved to experience that."
