Am I wrong?

It's no secret that that cupboard wasn't exactly stocked for BCG. At least we're moving forward now.

I would say you are wrong but we all have a right to our opinions. This is just mine but if Tubby were still there and running the same system this team would be much better. Granted the injuries have hurt even more but there is something to say for stability and running the same system.

I would probably agree with you that if OTS were still coach, the record would be better. I'd say that's more than likely.

Don't get me wrong, I like Tubby. I think he was a wonderful ambassador for the program for 10 years. But the program has grown stagnant these past 3 years with no signs of progress. OTS leaving was the best for all parties involved.

Exactly right. Because what we call rebuilding now was status quo a year ago.

Sorry Pat, I usually agree with you but not about this. Tubby has never been 7-8. Remember it's 10 loss Tubby, not 20.

It will never end...In 5 years we will have a thread titled "Tubby has forever ruined this program" or "With Tubby, UK would be in a lot better shape" Get used to it...

Or a thread title "Thank Goodness for BCG" or "Tubby Did The Best Thing For UK Basketball" or "This Guy Is Winning With BCG Recruits"...

BCG will not be at UK for 10 years.

I don't think that he will either. Not at all.

I did not vote, I didn't see a couple of options that I would prefer.

...... "Dead Horse Award" :D

or my pick would be.......

"I fully support both, that is possible ;)"

Or a thread title "Thank Goodness for BCG" or "Tubby Did The Best Thing For UK Basketball" or "This Guy Is Winning With BCG Recruits"...

:laugh::laugh: I just about fell out of my chair on that one.........Game Over, We have a Winner!!! :thumb::thumb::flame:

I'm trying to remember the last time this debate had any merit at all...

I supported Tubby and a huge group of people cast stones at me and told me that I wasn't a real UK fan... Whatever, no big deal.

Now the group of people I stood beside before seem to have a chip on their shoulders... It might not always be the case but I truly believe a few people have started to cheer against UK just so they can say "I told you so."

I guess I've got some issues since I have no problem cheering for both coaches at UK and I don't have to post about wanting someone to get fired all the time...

This is kind of a trick question because UK success and UM success are measured by 2 different standards! Tubby will be very successful for UM! So I have to vote that Tubby still should be at UK!!!

I like BCG, but do you guys who voted for the "BCG will have a better 10 year run than Tubby" really think that. I mean come on Tubby won a NCAA title,if he wants to win a title he needs to get some very good recruits. Myself I don't think that BCG will even be here for ten+ years.

But, what if he IS here for 10 years and gets the recruits? Would a title in year 5 make it any different than Tubby's in year 1? What if his first 3 years are his down years and he sky rockets after that? Would it all be comparable then?

On a related note:

25+ wins a year or not, the program was becoming uncapable of winning at a championship level and competing with the elites that UK should be able to. A bunch of those 25+ wins were against a horrible schedule. Recruiting just dropped off and may have picked up with different assistants, but in the end, I think OTS just wanted to add Saul to his staff and realized that there would probably be a "Bluegrass War" if he did it. I think both Tubby and UK were ready to split, JMO.

10 years in the powder keg that is UK is long enough, especially when those around you are doing an average to poor job getting players for you.

Time to move on and realize that everyone, fans and Tubby, had thrown stones in this one.

I am a UK fan, so neither a Tubby hater or supporter. I really dont think the record would be any better with Tubby as coach giving him the same injuries to deal with. Would PP even be here if Tubby was coach, this season really could be scary then

I can't remember UK ever playing a horrible schedule when Tubby coached, but I'll agree with you that the desire to allow Saul to coach factored a lot in his decision to leave. Crazy thing is, Saul would have helped recruiting tremendously IMO; he works his tail off according to those in the Minnesota camp.
