Um I not voting, because I like most people probably support both of these guys...Just because I support Tubby, doesn't mean I not fully supporting Billy G 100 percent and hoping he does great here at UK...

It will never end...In 5 years we will have a thread titled "Tubby has forever ruined this program" or "With Tubby, UK would be in a lot better shape" Get used to it...

JD, just delete this thread, start another, and make the poll public because I would also like to come back to this.

I want BCG to do great but it will take a lot to have a better 10 year run than Tubby did. Like it or not, he has a National championship. Also Tubby averaged 26 wins per season, BCG will have to work VERY hard to match that with this bad start (I am not going to hold this season against him) Tubby's WORST season had 13 losses.

 

I am not going to throw BCG under the bus and I will not worship Minnesota. I have ALWAYS enjoyed Big 10 basketball and Minnesota gives me a team to work for.

 

To me tubby is like the person that transfers from your high school to another school. You want the man to succeed but if he plays against you, you want him to lose. Do you see my analogy? Many of the posters on BGP are not Minnesota fans they just want a great guy that gave everything to their team succeed. The constant bashing of tubby only fuels their fire.

 

About BCG, I will not blame him OR ANYONE ELSE for the failure, or success of this season. If they lose the rest of their games, ah well. If they win the NCAA title, great. I have not blamed tubby and I will not credit him for this team. I have not blamed Billy and will not credit him. That isn't fair. You can't blame Tubby for the "lack of talent" and then if they start to win credit Billy for making them great. Nobody credits Eddie Sutton for the Unforgettables when in truth many of those were, "his players", (I think ). Nobody credits Matt Doherty(sp?) for Roy Williams national title, do they?

 

Stop giving all the credit to Pitino for Tubby's title. Pitino didn't win the title the year before so how can anyone say that Tubby's team SHOULD have won the title?

 

I wish BCG the best and I will support him for however long he is here. Sorry for that, I am done now.

I hope both do well and the two schools alternate winning the national championship.

 

But if the two ever face each other, I hope Tubby wins. Not that I like Tubby better than UK, just to hear the anguish cry of the Big Blue Nation and maybe, just maybe, than Duke will fall to #2 in the bitter rivals and University of Minnesota coached by Tubby Smith gains the #1 spot by 18% of the Big Blue Nation (or over 50% for the BGP contingent of the Big Blue Nation)

It's no secret that that cupboard wasn't exactly stocked for BCG. At least we're moving forward now.
