The Richmond Register is reporting that Hope may be leaving EKU for Purdue as early as Friday this week. This may affect recruiting because some of these high school players being recruited by EKU may be influenced by a coaching change. On the EKU forum, which may not be true, but they are saying that Purdue is also recruiting Coach Hope's son Chaz, from Madison Central.

Do you have a link....I was trying to find out about this myself. I talked to a couple of my buddies that coach college ball and they told me that there was a deal in the works with Hope going to Purdue as a Assistant Head Coach during the AFCA convention.

If Hope leaves, who would be mentioned to replace him?

What would his son play in college?

This article makes is sound very likely he is leaving. It's all over Purdue forums as well.I wonder if he has talked to his coaches and team at EKU?

Georgia and Florida. A couple years ago EKU signed 0 players from KY.

Looking at their 2007 Media Guide, they actually have 22 players from KY and 23 players from FL. I know when Roy Kidd was in his hey day, they recruited mostly from Florida and some Ohio, Pennsylvania and Georgia.

I am not totally certain if this is the case here, but coordinators at big schools are making considerably more money than head coaches at many of the smaller NCAA schools.

To eliminate all the headaches involved with a head coaching position and be paid more money might be very attractive to a lot of coaches.

And the icing on the cake might be to give his son a scholarship to an outstanding academic school. Sounds like a pretty nice financial package to me!
