It just shows you this year in particular. There wasn't a conference close to the SEC. Some years its closer, but this year there was no contest who the best league was.

Also, I know UK lost 5 games, and can understand them not being ranked, but I don't believe there are 25 teams out there better than Kentucky.

UK was in a no win situation in their bowl game. To crack the top 25 they had to beat a depleted FSU team handily, and that didn't happen. They won, but it wasn't enough.

You may want to look at Kansas' schedule before making this statement.........it was one of the weakest in the country.

 

There were sereral teams with weak schedules. Kansas had a heck of a football team this year. Look no further than them beating Virginia Tech when they had too.

I like seeing Appalachain State in there at #34.

I think this shows even more how far UK has come.

They beat the number 1 team in the country. They lost to #2 by less than 2 TD's. They played the number 12 team into quadruple overtime and they lost to the number 13 team by less than two TD's! That is consistantly competing with the best of the best. There will probably be a small setback next year but KY has definatly taken their program to the next level. Now if they could finish off some of the games they should have won they will take an even bigger step.

I'm definatly not saying that they weren't overrated to an extent but they were nowhere near the same team at the end of the year as they were when they played LSU at the start of the season.
