What is Rose Hill's rating in the state that makes them the "most over-rated" school in the state? Pardon me for asking, just wondering...

 

Also, does anyone know if Rose Hill beat LCA last year like a previous person on this thread implied? I thought LCA beat them last year...

 

I agree Rose Hill has to improve to finish second in the 16th region, BUT all this continued bashing and hatred for Rose Hill is ridiculous. Hey, O.J. has been gone for years! Can't the Rose Hill haters get over it by now?

Rose Hill Won 74 to 71 last year,

preseason RH was rated Number 2 in the 16 region in most polls, some had them at number 1 over Elliott County and top 30 in the state. Now thing have slipped a little. in most polls now they are down to 107 to 110 depending on the poll in the state and in the Region down to 6 or 7.

Here is the puzzling thing to me about Rose Hill. If I'm not mistaken they returned their entire team from last year yet they seem to have regressed. I don't know if LCA lost any players from last years team or not but look at what Rose Hill did last year compared to this year against the same teams and it is very puzzling. Bath Co. is another great example.

I was about 20 feet from the play, I feel he didn't just walk, he tried to "skip" through not two LCA defenders, but one of his own players also. Let's not take anything away from LCA, Dakotah made the first point of the game, but LCA quickly took a 10 point lead and controlled the entire game with Rose Hill cutting it back to 3 or 4 a couple times, but LCA was able to push back out flirting around 8 or 9 points.

 

Rose Hills offense started to become effective when it resorted to throwing the ball up to the rim and letting Chad Jackson crash to get the ball and score. My opinion Chad Jackson hurt LCA more than Euton

I am not trying to take anything away from LCA. They deserved to win. I'll defer to you on the walk. You were 20 ft. away watching it live, I was 120miles away watching it on the net. It is a tough loss for the Hill. This schedule would have been brutal for anyone in the region.

Watched the game on a local channel in Lexington and was not a bit impressed with either team. Both will need to improve if they want any life come tournament time.

LCA lost two seniors from last years team, one their leading scorer and starting small forward, and go to player. The other senior started the first half of the year, then by the time of the Rose Hill game he was the sixth man, as LCA moved to starting a 3 guard line up by that point, this player was the most athletic player and played power foward. He also had a shot to win the game last year with Rose Hill with under 20 seconds, but with LCA down 1 point he opted for a three pointer rather than drive to the basket, and the miss was rebounded by Rose Hill. The final starter missing from last year team is a current senior that is still recovering from knee surgery that occurred just before the season began, he was the leading returning rebounder, and second leading scorer. However, in defense of Rose Hill, with the exception of LCA temporarily missing their center, all the other players are much more improved and more seasoned being older. Give Rose Hills sophomores a couple of more years and I do predict they will be a force. The old saying you can't teach size and athletism, which Rose Hill definetly have that in Euton and Jackson. LCA could be a force when their returning center returns, but it all depends on how fast he gets his strength back in his knee.

Great job Trace, he is a fantastic point guard that probably doesnt get the full credit he deserves sometimes. As for RH and their stars, I am wondering if Billy Clyde didnt jump the gun on Euton, I mean does he really look like he has the ability to play next to the likes of Patterson some day and actually contribute at Kentucky?

I agree totally about Trace Helton, he does not get enough praise, he is a true point guard, pass first and shoot second. Last night he shot more and showed what he can do when he shoots, I know the coaches want him shooting more, but he wants to make those about him better. I was happy that he was able to show all that he can do.

 

The center is to be re-evaluated on Jan 21st to see if he can come back for the All A, the doctors and therapist are amazed at how fast he is recovering but to be honest most would not have given him a chance of being ready before the season ended. Any injury is a shame but a kid loosing most of his senior season, is a heart breaker.

The answer is yes. He has proven himself to a lot of people who know what they are talking about. I do agree that Hamilton Kid, I think that is his name, was tough.

I think that Dakota will do just fine at the next level. He is only a sophomore and with his work ethic will only improve. There is no way you can compare him to a Patterson today. But when he matures more then lets see what he will do.

Now wait a minute. Just because Euton said he was going to UK and BCG has talked to him that doesnt mean that is were he will end up. There is nothing signed - which Euton is unable to due to his age- but UK has no obligations to him what so ever....

This sounds like it was a very good basketball game. Sounds like Rose Hill is coming around, LCA from what all I understand has a pretty good basketball team.

Rose Hill imo will be ready come tournament time.
