The entire program could stand to have an overhaul. The facilities are horrible! I think they use 60 watt light bulbs to light the field, with no sideline space on the visiting side, no bleacher space on the same side. The field slopes sideways. the visitors dress about a half mile from the field in a PE locker room big enough for about 25. As far as coaching, I cannot speak for that, they may or may not have good coaches in the program but I see all the love going into baseball, ironic cause the ad is the baseball coach huh?

I've heard around 30 applicant with many being head coaches. Very suprising given the record and lack of support.

Oddly enough, I'm not that surprised. I think a place like Nicholasville would be a nice place to live, and the program, IMO is a good/determined staff away from being turned around. Looking at the success of Anderson county last year shows that the area is ripe for success. Plus, East Jess has had some success at the middle school level, so the talent pool is probably pretty good. Probably just a case of having a lot of talent walking the halls. If someone was determined enough and committed to building it up from the 6th grade level, good things could happen. With the middle school feeding directly into the high school, that opportunity is there to build EXACTLY what the head guy wants from the ground up. Maybe I'm just too much of an idealist, but it could happen.

It is nice to take over programs who are way down- that way your success is immediate if you win one game.

Do they have any type of time line? Football season started Jan 3rd for most of the state. I know that both West and Boyle are running workouts for the team with coaches that are not the "Head" man. They both need to get a coach on board so he can start to build his team the way it needs to be built.

The biggest problem with athletics in Jessamine County is the lack of support from the county board of education. The board is happy to have athletic teams but doesn,t give them the resources required to compete with most other athletic programs. The board also restricts how individual teams and boosters raise money.
