Matt hughes has to be, pound for pound, the strongest man on the planet. Just has unbelieveable raw strength to go with his fighting ability. I can't figure out Liddell! My head says he pounds Silva, but something tells me the "Axe Murderer" won't lose this thing. Looking forward to see Gamburyan back from injury, he will be a treat to watch in the 155 division.
December 27, 200718 yr St. Pierre should beat Hughes again. He pretty much dominated him in the first fight before Hughes got the armbar. Then he dominated him in the second fight. Silva will put a hurtin' on Chuck. Machida, Gulliard, and Sanchez should win.
December 27, 200718 yr Should be a good set of fights. Really looking forward to this saturday. Im pumped, those last three fights of the night should be awesome.
December 27, 200718 yr I am really looking forward to this PPV. I've been having withdrawal, since we didn't buy the last PPV. I ended up watching the first season of TUF on DVD again last week just to get my fix. I think that either Matt Hughes or GSP will win the main event. That's the only prediction I'll make on that one. I'm torn, because GSP is one of my favorites, but I still like Hughes. If Chuck Liddell fights like he did in his last two fights, he will most likely get beat. I met the Axe Murderer at UFC 77. He's a beast, but I'd like to see Chuck get back to his winning ways. I've completely given up on making any predictions.
December 28, 200718 yr I'm going to have to go with Chuck Liddell. I can't root against the guy. But Silva is a heck of a fighter. He has beaten Rampage Jackson by the way.

December 28, 200718 yr I'm going to be busy tomorrow night, so I hope I have time to watch it. My predictions are: Georges St. Pierre Wanderlei Silva Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou Melvin Guillard Eddie Sanchez James Irvin Manny Gamburyanr Dean Lister Tony DeSouza Doug Evans

My predictions are: Georges St. Pierre Wanderlei Silva Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou Melvin Guillard Eddie Sanchez James Irvin Manny Gamburyanr Dean Lister Tony DeSouza Doug Evans Great minds think alike I guess....those would be my picks as well.
December 30, 200718 yr GSP was dominant tonight, just way to much for Hughes. Wasnt much stand up in this one, GSP just took Hughes down with ease and controlled him. Won by arm bar in round 2. Liddell looked like the Chuck of old and looked very good against Wandy. In round one it was the opposite of how I thought it would play out, Chuck was the agressor and walked Wand down and Silva was the counter striker instead of Liddell. Round 2 Silva came out how I figured he would in the first and was the agressor knocked Chuck down a time or two but it didnt seem to phase him and he got right back up and went after Wand. I thought Silva started to gas in the 3rd and Liddell hit him with some nice shots similar to the first round. Chuck took him down near the end of the fight and they stayed there til time expired. Chuck had a nice takedown at the beginning of round 2 which caught me off guard and looked like it suprised Silva also. It was the fight of the night and Chuck got the unanimous decision 29-28, 30-27, and 30-27. Also Machida looked great and got the submission win in Round 2.

December 30, 200718 yr I knew GSP would be too much for Hughes. I also thought Liddell/Silva would be a great fight and it was. I almost didn't get to watch it due to Dish network being very annoying....I missed most of the first part because of that delay but I got it all day so I'll catch it later. I've only gotten 2 hours of sleep so I'm going to hit it for now....
December 30, 200718 yr Soa Palalei vs. Eddie Sanchez Boring. Rich Clementi vs. Melvin Guillard I guess they couldn't find two classier guys to fight tonight. Lyoto Machida vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou This fight carried a lot of anticipation. I like Sokoudjou but he showed that he didn't have much ground skill. Machida did exactly what he needed to do; quell Sokoudjou's vaunted standup skill. I look for Machida to be a force and I look forward to his next fight. Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva This fight, in my opinion, was awesome. I think it's exactly what a lot of people were looking for. Silva is incredibly tough, he took a beating and continually fired right back, all the way until the final bell. Liddell landed a ton of shots on him. They really traded a few heavy blows too. I think Silva knocked Liddell down twice (he may have slipped on the first one) and I believe Liddell took Silva down three times. Liddell even used a spinning-backfist. It was really an awesome fight. I was surprised that Silva didn't use the clench or more knees/kicks, especially when it was clear Liddell was getting the better of the punching exchanges. I think Liddell learned from the Jardine fight and changed some things. His takedowns weren't to get the Silva on the ground and work from there, but to keep him honest and score points. After the takedowns they were almost immediately back on their feet. Perhaps Liddell game planned for a decision and worked to score points rather than swing for the fences against another slugger. Although Liddell did swing for the fences quite a bit. He wiffed a few punches that looked like they would have taken Silva's head off. I hope these guys get to go at it again, perhaps for five rounds, and I look forward to their next fights. Matt Hughes vs. Georges St. Pierre Pretty much what I expected, I thought St. Pierre was the better fighter before and it certainly showed. I suppose it was relatively boring compared to the fight before it, but watching St. Pierre work is like watching an artist. His right leg sweep takedown of Hughes was great and the ground work utilized to get the arm bar was simply impressive, especially considering Hughes' ground prowess. I enjoyed watching it and can't wait for St. Pierre to dismantle Serra.
